Re: his weird obsession with rape

Read the full interview, she says she wasn’t aware of Whedon cheating on his wife with anyone on set and has had to deal with people speculating about her getting jobs by sleeping with the men in charge so se doesn’t like taking part in that kind of speculation.

FWIW, the interview as primarily about Noxon’s current TV work (Sharp Objects and Dietland) and when the interviewer brought up Buffy she had couch her statements by admitting to not rewatching it recently.

Two things:

Focusing on the relations with Jodie is the most intriguing aspect to me. Jodie was always a good foil to some of Daria’s worst cynicism. It’s a good way to address the way the world’s different than in the 90s.

I do think the show was very much a product of it’s times and the cynical mock everything tone makes Daria much less sympathetic than when it originally aired. (Some of that could be read as a reaction to her hippies-turned-yuppies parents, and if the relaunch sets it amongst present day teens, they’d have to change

Well he generally seems an un-self-aware character so I don’t think he’s given it much thought. But if they’re consistently leaving you underwhelmed stop watching. try something else, preferably not connected to a major franchise with which you have childhood memories associated.

I really like this idea. Kylo Ren is all about not living up to the past. Killing his father wasn’t the act of domination he thought. He was so enraged with Luke that he self sabotaged what seemed like an assured victory. Finding out his mother died and failing because he never gets the confrontation with her he needs

I feel like the question we need Disney to answer to best figure out what they’re doing with the main sequel trilogy is what are they planning with all those announce spinoff trilogies that we know the directors but nothing else about?

I agree that her and story needs to wrap up on screen (the past two films have been leading to a confrontation between Leia and her son) and I dislike the CGI option. But I’m not sure if having an off screen death necessarily prevents it Kylo could be haunted by his mother through the use of found footage. She could

I have so many questions:

Seriously, what are the odds that the Canto Bight sequence WAS a backdoor pilot for Rian Johnson’s spinoff trillogy? because I couldn’t stop wondering that during the movie.

I’m kind of baffled that the series has new fans who weren’t around for the original run. I was always told that culture came in cycles and if something you like goes out of fashion wait a while and it will come back. But I expected it to be in a new form. I didn’t think it would be the exact same series.

I haven’t watched any of the revival seasons. When the first one was announced I thought “why does anyone need this?” Between Person of Interest and Grimm I felt like anything The X-Files could do was being covered already and by shows better fit for the current moment. (Supernatural too, but I don’t watch it.) PoI

Men always reveal their most awful truths in Payboy interviews. I don’t know how to feel about this.

I’ve heard about this, but I’ve never read it.

Hughes comedy was political! It was that Reagan era, “put all the sixties/seventies stuff back in the box” type of backlash that refused to acknowledge itself as political, claiming to be more of a return to natural order (Later in life, under the pen name Edmonde Dantes, Hughes wrote the story for the Jennifer Lopez

Marla loves her, she’s okay.

It got him a great pool!

That’s an example, I was also thinking of Anne Shirley.
