I have to say, the Madeline cheats on her husband plot was one of my least favorite parts of Big Little Lies. It was not in the book, and felt like it was added just to create a possible second season.

I was going to suggest that its because not all stories can be adopted to any medium. Stories about music and musicians, for example, are generally better suited for documentary, where explaining the context is key, than fictionalization, which needs to be more about what’s next.

Though that film, arguably, doesn’t give a definitive truth so it is harder to adapt to Memes.

I feel like this whole “what if reality is a simulation?” thing is our epoch’s take on the question of “is there an afterlife?” And in both cases, I’d say it doesn’t matter, your focus should be on treating others well and caring for the planet, because that’s the only way life here gets better.

You know when your a kid and your parents and teachers and whoever makes a comment on how as you get older you see things from your youth come back into fashion? They didn’t really warn me about how fresh the backlash would feel while seeing younger people take up things that I was disenchanted by.

I think we are pretty ambivalent about it. Even with the technology making keeping in touch easier, maintaining a personal connection is pretty hard. Plus I do worry about the whole everyone in their bubble not getting corrections when needed.

The thing is, given certain political trends, I think a lot of people don’t believe in free will for other people. A problem of defining free will is making sure that people recognize it as possible for everyone.

First the way the GOP/Conservatives have convinced themselves that theirtakeis the only patriotic one is dangerous (It leads to these kind os delusions), and needs to be disabused.
