Here's a template for all of you lazy people.

I came here hoping that it had all three engines at one time. I was sorely disappointed.

Operation Upshot-Knothole was the name for the nuclear artillery, not Operation Trinity. #historicallycorrect(ions)

You must have more space in your pants than I do.

Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

Thanks. I knew that safety equipment was outside of the $500, but I wasnt sure what the average cost of it all was. Honestly 3k isnt all that bad, I was expecting a lot more.

There's a time and place for concepts like these. And in this case the time and place is in my driveway, right now.

Since my comment seems to have disappeared, same here. Plus those two pedals can get so confusing, that why we see them sticking out of walls so often.

Buick, simply because it is the car of choice for old people and they don't have to prove that they can still drive. Also they have a tendency to show up sticking out of walls.

Its a 2011 I bought used from a dealer. Ive had problems with all sorts of things but when I take it in (to a different buick dealer) they always say nothings wrong. For some reason they wont listen to the person who drives it everyday.

So why exactly would you jump onto the back of your friends dirt bike while he's running from the cops?

I can tell you're biased by your handle. I'm biased because I daily drive the car. I 'm sure the ecotec can be fine in the right car, and with a turbo, but Buick didn't match the transmission to the engine well and putting "eco" in front of something cant even get 20 mpg city is just sad. I wouldn't care if I got 14

Nice, those seem like a decent car to use as a base. I just keep creeping around eBay and Craigslist looking for a diamond in the rough. Not much luck though, plus it doesnt help that i would need a working vehicle, since i know nothing about fixing cars.

Darn. I lived up in Wisconsin for highschool and whatnot, but I'm down in Texas for college. My plan is to start an on campus organization next year, but even that costs money.

What did you guys do for all of the safety equipment?

I usually cant be bothered by Subaru's and this is awkward, but does anyone have some clean pants I can borrow?

Good point. I'm trying to get some people together at my school, but as college students no one wants to/can put up enough money. It's definitely on the bucket list though.

God these cars are beautiful. I must continue my search for the sub $500 car. It's just getting harder and harder though. Everybody thinks their 1981 whatever is worth at least a grand just because it still (barely) runs.

Speaking as someone under 80 (by a considerable amount) the base Buick Regal is a train wreck of a car. The gearbox that goes with the "Ecotec" engine is horrendous and speaking of "Ecotec" I get 14 mpg city (and that's not all that far off from EPA estimates). That is bullshit from a modern 4 cylinder. While being
