I literally don’t know you dude.

Oddly enough, I happen to be an expert on my own life, so...

You’ve like, hardly interacted with me so idk if you’re qualified to judge my integrity or alleged biases. It’s an internet comment section. You can calm down.

Just out of curiosity, are you a healthcare professional in Florida? Because even the source you linked here says that people have better luck with higher degrees. Nursing programs here are always super competitive, so acting like literally anyone can get a nursing license is sort of silly.

You need a bachelor’s to be an RN, which is what I was referring to, so perhaps I oversimplified. But even LPN programs here tend to be expensive - at least in the eyes of poor folks. So where exactly is the falsehood?

I mean, I’ve lived here literally my entire life. Nursing schools are incredibly competitive. They aren’t certificate programs and they’re not cheap.

Well in Flordia you need a BS to be an actual nurse. CNAs here don’t make much more than food service workers.

Would it be odd for me to ask where specifically your friend is from? I live in a part of Florida with pretty substantial income inequality and I’m wondering how this correlates to food deserts/access to fresh produce, etc.

Idk if that’s true though. Her fan base seems to be mostly teen girls and young women. And while they can certainly be bigots too, I don’t think they’d stop listening to her songs or buying merch if she said “I don’t agree with those Nazi assholes.”

This is the sticking point for me. Her image is extremely controlled. She’s sued people for releasing parodies of her songs and fans her selling fan art. If she genuinely cared that the alt-right had labeled her their queen, she would have said something by now.

Perhaps I should specify since nuance isn’t your strong suit. I can’t fault her for becoming an icon to the alt-right. As I said earlier (in a comment you must have conveniently overlooked), they could have latched onto another blonde haired, blue eyed celebrity. But I do think it’s on her to actually address this

You cut off my comment there, so uhm, okay? If she’s gonna use a political movement to make money, she should speak up when a bunch of bigots start talking about how she’s a perfect Aryan princess. I stand by that. The Nazi fixation with her has been documented a few times over the years, so I didn’t pull that out of

I don’t generally frequent The Root, so you’ve missed the mark. Being a WOC doesn’t put me above reproach, but you’re essentially accusing me of reverse racism, which isn’t a thing. Never said all white folks are the devil. I never even said Taylor was.

Do you really feel that good about telling a WOC how to feel about something like this?

Jesus Christ you are making a truly insane amount of assumptions. Idk why you’re so irrationally dedicated to defending a celebrity who probably doesn’t know that you exist.

Right cause speaking out against literal Nazis isn’t something a feminist would do... You’re a shitty person and I would prefer that you leave me alone.

I didn’t say it was on her. But it is on her to actually denounce that. If she wants to brand herself as a feminist she should probably speak up when a wildly misogynistic fringe group starts talking about how she represents them.

If you genuinely think people should be insulted for pointing out consistent casual racism, maybe you need to reevaluate. Even nice, pretty white girls do racist shit sometimes and POC are allowed to call them on it.

I also never called her a white supremacist, but thanks for putting words in my mouth. I merely pointed out the fact that Neo Nazis stan for her because they think she’s a beacon of aryan purity.

Again, idk why you feel the need to be so bizarrely cruel. I didn’t personally attack you or anything. I think the way she acts very much recalls out of touch white women who are scandalized by “aggressive” black man. I’m far from the only one who sees that. If you don’t understand why her attitude seems a little dog
