@hortense: I could totally see Kathleen Sebelius - hell, there's even a shot she may get asked for VP.

@Go Like Hell Machine: I'd also point out that Clinton isn't being pressured to denounce Ferraro to any degree that Obama was pressured to denounce Wright, and hasn't volunteered to, either.

I can absolutely agree that sexism has played a part (however large or small) in Clinton's defeat. Which is what it is now, regardless of what her campaign says publicly. It is a defeat.

I've wrapped myself in Saran Wrap to sleep, but it's been to keep dog hair out of a new tattoo. Otherwise, that's some ridiculous shit.

@MilointheMeadow: Ummm, with the exception of being First Lady, Clinton doesn't have that much more elected experience than Obama. And, say Obama were to come out strongly against the admittedly misogynist and sexist tactics that have been used by people other than him; is she going to come out against her own race-

@Cicada: I think that is an important point that has been left out. I can't think of another time period in which a black man and a woman could be running for the Democratic nomination and potentially win the presidency. And I think, provided everyone plays nicely together, the Democrats are truly going to stomp the

@nyobserver: Okay, now I'm done discussing with you. That's the exact same attitude as the irrational Clinton-haters who have no substantive reason to dislike her, and I really don't like that attitude, either.

@nyobserver: I guess I'm just unclear on what substantive policy disagreements you have with Obama. I mean, you could turn the question on me if Clinton were going to be the nominee and I said I wouldn't vote for her, but she's not going to be the nominee, and I've pretty consistently stated that I'd vote for either

@LouWeed: I was allowing for the possibility that some people might be as offended by one as the other.

@nyobserver: Yeah, but really? I mean, do you really think that McCain (say, oh, given his history on just one issue: reproductive rights) is going to be a better choice than Obama? Realistically, Obama's policy positions, in a lot of cases, aren't that far from Clinton's. So, you'd rather vote for someone that has

@Go Like Hell Machine: Rather, the subtext that comes along with "hardworking white Americans".

@Go Like Hell Machine: Also - those that would vote McCain (or not vote) over Obama need to really seriously re-evaluate your choices and your priorities. Those kind of sour grapes could potentially have much, much more dire consequences than you think.

@gretch: I wouldn't say that sexism or misogyny didn't have anything to do with Obama's eventual winning the nomination, but I question whether it had to do with it as much as people have been implying.

His hair does look pretty horrible, but his documenting of every step of it on his blog totally made it worth it. Hilarious!

@miryam: If you have a basset hound, as I do, you can't do anything if they're in your lap. Including move.

@Parasol: Absolutely agreed. I'm disgusted by a media that more or less forces the worst excuse for dialogue on any issue imaginable, and I think that it's a travesty that, in an election that is essentially between a black man and a woman for the first time in the history of the United States, the candidates are

I stop fucking my exes when we stop dating. End of story. I find that this dramatically increases the odds that we will get along later on.

@braak: Nope. The casting director earned their money.
