Yeah, some people will always defend what they have. Five years ago all I ever heard online was that 30FPS was fine and 60FPS was for PCMR wankers. Now the new consoles do 60FPS pretty much as standard and surprise, that argument is shrinking by the day. As soon as Nintendo release a 4K console (and they will, it’s

A 4K handheld is going to last you a fraction of the time that the Switch does...

There was a difference with HD TV. Not only was the difference in picture much more noticable, but the form factor played a big role. It was the first time people could actually watch widescreen shows in widescreen at home.

I put 150 hours in Fire Emblem but I can still say it doesn’t look too hot.

You really need a TV of 65/75 or larger to actually see a significant difference.

Maybe this is a UK/US thing? I’ve never heard of parents here getting dragged into court because their 18-year-old missed school classes. Not doubting you’re right for the US, though.

Oof, I didn’t realise it was that much. Still about the same price as Netflix + Disney + HBO, though, to say nothing of Switch game prices.

So I’m not a huge FF fan but I’ve long loved the soundtracks for the main entries, the scores are my favourite part of those games, and as such I found FFXIII’s soundtrack to be the most disappointing part of the game. To me there’s no melodic meat on those bones, it’s just light fluff - where previous games were

Could be Nintendo asking for a cut of Netflix’s revenue and neither wanting to budge, or something like that. Not likely we’ll ever know.

I can’t imagine you wouldn’t have been able to scrounge up the money to buy those products legitimately.

Not for copyright, but it ABSOLUTELY can for trademark (ex. Kleenex or IBM).

It’s certainly the case that the most pirated platforms are always the most successful

I used to browse the deals section of the Switch store somewhat regularly to begin with, but stopped after a year or so, because picking good games out of the endless stream of $2 Android shovelware was becoming more hassle than it was worth. It’s part of the reason I stopped playing my Switch almost entirely. It’s wei

Usually these revisions are an attempt to boost lagging hardware sales, but if those numbers aren’t lagging, why change things?

The point isn’t that the font is illegible, it’s that it’s a terrible aesthetic choice that has been badly implemented. If you look at that and don’t immediately think it looks like an ugly mess there may be no convincing you otherwise, though. Some people just don’t see this stuff, and they are the lucky ones.

I don’t know if I’d pay $30 for that - maybe, maybe not. But I definitely won’t pay $20 for anything that looks like the screenshots in the article.

Going online with a CFW will do it, yeah.

Yes XIII was a mess but at least it was a mess I can remember distinct sections of whether it be characters, levels, bosses etc.

I hated that section too, I get that it was a bit of light relief to break up the suspense but it wasn’t much fun.

Dead Space 2 was fine, but I was hoping for a return to form for the third game. I didn’t get it, obviously, and I’m not going to lie, I was disappointed. But I think the complaints weren’t really about Dead Space 3 itself, more the significant departure that it represented, with all the trappings of the era. I don’t
