I think a D&D movie adapted from either the Icewind Dale or Dragonlance Chronicles could be good. Nothing earth shattering but if done well entertaining.

I’m a huge D&D nerd and casting Johnson as a monster or troll or even generic Barbarian type is a huge waste. With that man’s charisma, strength, constitution and decent wisdom, he’s a fucking Paladin.

I had not heard that, but the pre-season buzz over Aquaria and the current buzz about her is completely different. I don’t know if just that she’s getting a bad edit or she’s just not that likable but I found it really interesting that she’s doing PR pieces already. Usually the queens don’t get articles out about them

I may not agree with all your takes here, but the trio of songs that kicks off In an Aeroplane is fucking magical.

Now playing

The mini-challenge was actually referencing this series of ads:

Calling Grave of the Fireflies “one of the most painful, dark, and beautiful films in the history of war cinema” is not overselling that movie at all; it’s definitely one of the two or three most moving, haunting films I’ve ever seen. Farewell to a true master.

ALRIGHT KITTENS, aside from a pretty good episode with a damn great lipsync song and a refreshed and beautiful looking Courtney Love let’s get into ALL THIS:

I think they get away with it in the movie because Karen Allen was in her late 20s when they were filming it and (for lack of a better way to put it) seems like a “grownup” in the same way that Harrison Ford does. If they’d cast a 25 year old actress, or an actress who wasn’t able to play the part in the same

That was Lucas, not Spielberg.

It was the Marah Eakin, not Trixie, who characterized those who disagreed with Trixie winning as Shangela stans.

Same. I actually told a friend at the beginning of AS3 that if Shangela won, I would be furious. But with Ben out, she was the only one left who was bringing it. Everyone else was fighting for last place.

Yeah I was pretty neutral on Trixie overall during her time on Drag Race, but I straight-up love Trixie and Bob together on T&K. It’s a hilarious show and I really hope they come back for a second season.

I’ve never loved someone as much as i love trixie. her humor and aesthetic reach into my core. and she’s humble. she’s able to laugh at herself and get back onto the horse. her show in ATL has sold out but i’m going to make it one day to see her live.

They forgot about Dre (‘s history of violence towards women).

That may not be true of fans of those books in general, but some of the things those two guys have said give off an “all art is political” vibe to me.

I love the Gormenghast books but I think they’re always going to be a tough sell on TV. When you get down to that, there’s not much of a plot in a traditional sense except Steerpike’s machinations and while the books are nominally fantasy there’s not much particularly “fantastic” you can put your finger on. In a lot

The description misses out Titus Alone, which is “go outdoors and get even nuttier.”

I would enjoy fantasy fiction much more if Gormenghast was the ur-text, rather than Lord of the Rings.

I vaguely remember the BBC adap of Gormenghast, because it had that “our budget isn’t quite ready for this shit” feel that a lot of late 90's/early 2000's Beeb productions had.

I’d be careful about saying “I loved Isis” on the internet.
