As a dad, I value the ability to play portable, so I can sneak in 5 and 10 minute bursts of play. I would much rather it be less pretty and portable than have it be higher powered and static.

The Messenger was so so good. I will have to check this one out. Didn’t realize it was a story prequel. 

Holy crap! I have memories of coming home from school to play this game, waking up early to play this game, sneaking downstairs in the middle of the night to play this game... One of my favorite SNES games of all time and I couldn’t be happier about a remake.

Yup! Get excited! Very pumped for a lot of people to be introduced to the the man, the myth, the legend...

I was a big fan of the DCAU as a kid but not really sure that two guys whose primary experience is in writing animated shows that had mostly standalone episodes would be good at orchestrating a live-action cinematic universe. Yeah it’s like that time Christian Bale blew up on that DP on the set of Terminator. From what I’ve heard the DP was causing general fuckery on set and Bale was basically the only one with enough clout to check him... so he did haha 

I agree with all of this. And I would also argue that James Bond is rooted in a very particular set of male anxieties that do not necessarily work when transposed into a female character. The conspicuous consumerism of the Bond books and the opulence of the early films reflects British cultural anxieties over post-war…

It is vitally important to point out that the people who are trying to make the “James Bond should totally be a woman” thing happen do not watch, and have no interest in ever watching, James Bond movies.

Been watching a lot of pre-CGI movies. Wish we would get the balance right.
