EVERYONE uses they and just doesn't notice. "Someone called but they didn't leave a message." Literally no one should be confused by that sentence or think two or more people called on the phone. Some of the "they" ranters just like to nitpick.

I use the singular they all the time for both myself and in general writing. It’s not as confusing as people make it out to be. It’s no more confusing than having a piece of writing with more than one man or woman.

Even TERF as an acronym is troublesome as it implies these people are still feminists and part of the genuine movement when really they just seem to be people who believe they should get more power for themselves but won’t help up other women who aren’t from their group.

Reminds me of the time I got a Facebook post deleted because I told a nazi to “go screw” himself for making a flippant comment about dead children post-Parkland.  I was the one who was apparently breaking the rules on Facebook, not the guy making fun of dead kids.  Social media is for the worst of us. 

At some point the evidence supports a conclusion: Twitter is simply okay with welcoming white supremacists, MRAs, TERFs, and other hateful scum. And worse, contemptuous of people who stand up to the hateful scum.
