What worries me is there’s special elections going on right now that could help Dems take back some control in Congress, but the party appears to be ignoring them because they are in states that Trump did well in. This is in spite of them doing well in polls - in spite of them actually have something of a shot.

How about just ditching the gendered actor/actress divide, and renaming the awards something like

Historically, they aren’t. Singular “they” has a long history in English; it fell out of favor for a long while, but the growing need for a singular non-gendered pronoun is reviving it.
