Bought two new cars this year: Jeep Compass for my wife (coming out of her 2006 Ford Exploder), and a new Grand Cherokee for myself (out of a 2012 Kia Optima). Apparently that makes me an evil rich person?

You could buy a brand new Durango and do those mods yourself... and still keep $5k in the bank. Crack Pipe

I work at an FCA dealership. Unless you study and work with the product for at least a year, then it’s nearly impossible to tell the difference between some of the models. You think that the Grand Cherokees were bad? Only a few years ago, there were 13 different models of the Ram 1500.

In your case, the 2021s can be Read more

First off, the last person is several months late to order a 2020, 2500. We’ve been ordering 21's since the beginning of October. Second, why on earth would you want to order a vehicle that is already going to be a model year old - especially one as loaded as a Longhorn? It’s a 2500, it’s not like the manufacturer Read more

It’s really no different than buying a car online from someplace like Carvana. It’s not like we force you to get financed and approved before you drive it. There’s no point in letting someone drive a $50k Ram 1500 if they expect to pay less than $350/month with $0 down.

Wow, that’s insane. At the dealer I work for in CT, we don’t even let people test drive until they agree on the numbers. No point in letting a customer drive and possibly contaminate the vehicle if we can’t even agree on how much the car will cost. The more we can do over the internet - the better.

Why is it always such a big deal that car companies outsource batteries for EVs? It’s really not any different than when the manufacturer outsources other critical components, like the Cummins motors in Rams or Navistar motors in Ford.

Don’t you understand, gas cars are evil! If Nissan or GM can’t pump out a new EV daily for our Morning Shift articles, then they have no place in our brave new world.

My first car was a 2012 Optima Hybrid that I bought in 2016 from a local dealer. I actually knew the previous owner, who had only put on 10k miles since he bought the car new back in 2011. It was a fully loaded EX, and I absolutely loved the car. Sadly, the transmission went twice on the car - both times related to Read more

I think it’s beautiful. A true piece of minimalist, modern art.

Same here. We’ve been steady, but are going to very quickly run out of inventory. We haven’t seen more than a dozen new cars delivered here since May.

As some one who was brought back on board because we were approved for the PP loan, it truly was a lifesaver for me. I work for a great auto group. While others in the area were doing mass layoffs, ours kept us on furlough and continued to pay for our healthcare nearly in full for as long as they could. I was Read more

Just ran a the numbers on a $48k Grand Cherokee Limited (assuming that’s the trim you were looking at) and that number is totally reasonable. Depending on where you live, the dealer could have been making as little as $650 on that car. Considering the fact that many dealers are nearly wiped out (we’re down to our last Read more
