I hope you can. I recommend it ardently, it's a police show that's actually critical of the police, and contains some of the most nuanced characters I've watched on TV.

The second I read "Animism", I knew it was a matter of time for Bjork to pop up somewhere.

And Line of Duty. Easily the best show I've seen the last 2-3 years.

No worries, I knew I deserved it with my bone-headed comment. And if I really want to know, there are resources online. Thanks for the civil discussion and the perspective.

I know. I was sorry I made that comment after a bit of thinking over it but by then it was too late to edit again or remove. I usually know I shouldn't comment on things I don't understand.

Not of this magnitude. I'm sorry you have. And I'm sorry I can't fully comprehend it.

Why?

I just can't understand that (because I'm lucky enough to have no experience, I guess) - even if he's completely reformed and never touched her again, how do you keep on being with someone who's beaten you? Who's hurt you deliberately and made you scared and wrecked physically? How do you ever warm up to him again?

Ah, I didn't know that. Thanks for explaining.

Wait, didn't they hold this just a few months ago? When there was scandal because one of the misses was "fat"?

Maybe he's magnetic in person? Some people are inexplicably attractive when you meet them face to face.

I actually did move to Finland after breaking up with my first long-term bf. It helped enormously.

Likewise. And it's become rather rare to be able to debate without getting nasty and/or personal in here, so I doubly appreciate this exchange.

Yup. This can only ever be a problem for people worried they're losing their alibi for rape (aka "She didn't say no" or "I thought he wanted it"). For everyone actually concerned with having consensual sex, not just with getting away with ambiguous situations, nothing will change.

This. What's the worst possible consequence of this? That someone might miss out on sex? That's still like, A MILLION TIMES better than raping someone. But I guess not for people for whom their own sexual satisfaction/need to conquer is more important than another person's bodily autonomy and right to not be violated.

"Affirmative consent" means affirmative, conscious, and voluntary agreement to engage in sexual activity. It is the responsibility of each person involved in the sexual activity to ensure that he or she has the affirmative consent of the other or others to engage in the sexual activity. I feel similarly about the discussion, and I do respect and am inclined to agree with your point of view - you make very good points which I know are accurate and fair, the only thing I'm uncertain about is whether deciding against involving anything to do with the Roma minority would show respect or read as
