My family’s always been super hot on the whole “food gift” thing, throughout pretty much every generation. Every birthday since I was tiny tiny, I’ve received a box of fancy-ass gourmet chocolate covered pretzels from Boscov’s (of all places - their pretzels are unreal) from my Mom, a box of Entemann’s Black and White

YES YES YES YES

It’s aggressively all-ages, if not biased towards older viewers. It’s goofy on the surface, but delves deep into a lot of heavy character exploration - the entire first season is basically about the main character learning to process trauma.

Huge thank you to William and Noel for including Infinity Train on their lists - I still can’t begin to understand how that’s flown under the radar to the degree that it has so far. I’ve marathon’d the whole thing with 3 VERY different groups of friends/ family, all of whom were immediately enthralled... hope CN

Four way tie for me, almost all for contextual reasons:

Definitely Dragonriders of Pern's Klah for me. It's described as the perfect fusion of coffee, tea, and spiced hot chocolate, which honestly seems like the ideal beverage.

Billy Eichner and Julie Klausner’s Difficult People was perhaps the show most laser-targeted at my particular demographic I’ve ever (and likely will ever) encounter, at the cost of being one of the least universally approachable shows to grace the face of the Earth. I will love it and miss it till the end of time.

Really cutting it close here, but that was one of my absolute favorite TV episodes of the decade, hands down. I don’t often use the word perfect when it comes to syndicated TV, but that was as close to perfection as I’ve seen since The Americans bit it. Just... wow.

Not in a million years would I have expected IASIP to end this season with a bizarro fusion of Waiting for Godot (took me WAY too long to get that joke) and Starship Troopers (which is what my mind first went to), but I am HERE for it.

Thoroughly excited for whenever folks start going to these things as Lube Man.

NEIL CASEY’S BACK IN SPAAACE

I can hear the fanfic engines revving in the distance

I did a reread blitz of the series Yaddle starred in this weekend, and holy shit did Jude Watson go dark with some of that stuff. I sometimes wonder why my sense of humor is so grim, then I remember that I was reading about ecoterrorists and evil dudes getting their flesh melted off by backfiring blasters at like age

A host suuuuper comfortable with live performances (AND clearly delighted to be a part of it) goes a heck of a long way towards overcoming deficiencies on the pure comedy side.

watching the two of them visually converge over the past decade has been a truly wild ride

Nice bit of likely-unintended synergy between tonight’s Superstore “if you don’t like the weather in St. Louis” bit and Jason’s “if you don’t like a funeral in Jacksonville” line.

And holy shit was that a Schur-y episode from tip to tail, in the best way possible. When I saw how they were pulling Eleanor’s Chidi-eulog

Perfect for everyone, then! To make it clear: I’m just happy to see the mechanic back in use.

Having single-use TM’s made choosing which Pokemon to teach it to a difficult and strategic choice, and in turn made TM’s so much more valuable and satisfying to use in their original iteration than the “sure, teach it to everyone” the past few gens have had. Super thrilled to see ‘em get back to that.

Correct...? Having single-use TM’s made choosing which Pokemon to teach it to a difficult and strategic choice, and in turn made TM’s so much more valuable and satisfying to use in their original iteration than the “sure, teach it to everyone” the past few gens have had. Super thrilled to see ‘em get back to that. What
