Came here to reply to a couple things:

Make America Gasp Again

I wouldn’t call that a push bunt, it was a drag. Push bunts you show a little earlier to get the defense moving, Dyson waited about as long as he could there.

Much better is the raised embroidery on the chest logo. I like this a lot, and while it again may not show up on TV, it’ll look great in ice-level photography, and on the chests of fans who buy them.

He’s not walking away from anything if he’s on LTIR. And it’s $4mi, not $20 million.

Always thought he was a bit of a penis but still had respect for him as a player. While it’s a bit sentimental, there are certain players that deserve to play their entire career for one franchise, however long they want that to be.

Whoosh. At least you went down swinging.

Low hanging fruit is always the sweetest.

So fitting his middle name is Richard.

The fuck outta here. There’s no such thing as step cousin.

Thank you for this cold take, baller.

LaMelo longs for the March days at the WBC with his Puerto Rico teammates.

No, the ball wouldn’t have been dead after it crossed the foul line. It would have been a ball (without a swing) and still live. It would be dead if it *didn’t* cross the foul line; that’s an illegal pitch.

You’re only half right. It has to do more than “leave his hand”.

But, once that ball crosses the foul line, it *is* a legal pitch. If he hadn’t swung, it would have been called a ball. He swung before it crossed the line, it’s a strike.

For the purpose of a check swing, yes, it is. The umpire can determine if it was a “swing” if the barrel of the bat is carried past the body of the batter on said swing. In this case it wouldn’t matter b/c he took a full “swing”.

Conversely, it’s not a ball until it crosses the foul line. He swung before that, strike is the right call.

The wording is slightly different in the NCAA rule book but the batter can’t permit the pitch to hit them, i.e. you have to make some effort to avoid being hit by a pitch. So, yes, it’s incumbent on the batter to get out of the way.
