The fuck outta here. There’s no such thing as step cousin.

I’m not feelin’ it, feelin’ it, Marky.

This Barstool post is the essence of #Covfefe .........

Thank you for this cold take, baller.

LaMelo longs for the March days at the WBC with his Puerto Rico teammates.

No, the ball wouldn’t have been dead after it crossed the foul line. It would have been a ball (without a swing) and still live. It would be dead if it *didn’t* cross the foul line; that’s an illegal pitch.

You’re only half right. It has to do more than “leave his hand”.

But, once that ball crosses the foul line, it *is* a legal pitch. If he hadn’t swung, it would have been called a ball. He swung before it crossed the line, it’s a strike.

For the purpose of a check swing, yes, it is. The umpire can determine if it was a “swing” if the barrel of the bat is carried past the body of the batter on said swing. In this case it wouldn’t matter b/c he took a full “swing”.

Conversely, it’s not a ball until it crosses the foul line. He swung before that, strike is the right call.

The wording is slightly different in the NCAA rule book but the batter can’t permit the pitch to hit them, i.e. you have to make some effort to avoid being hit by a pitch. So, yes, it’s incumbent on the batter to get out of the way.

One of the big problems with the current technology is not the fastballs, it’s the breaking pitches. Apparently human umps still call them at a much higher rate than the bots do. Until they figure that out, it won’t change.

I would have to double check the running lane violation rule but, as far as I know, every instance of interference the runners have to return the base occupied when the pitch was made.

“throwing a good throw” is *nowhere* in the rule book. Heyward stepped into the field of play with the last step he took with his left foot (out of the running lane) and was then hit with the ball. Interference, plain and simple.

2 strikes, that’s too close to take. Looked like it nipped the edge of the zone on the telecast anyway.

Following Carson’s logic, wouldn’t middle class be a “state of mind”, too? You take a millionaire that has the “right mind set”, take *almost* everything from them, put them in *only* a 2-bedroom apartement and I *GUARANTEE YOU* they’ll be right back to being a millionaire.

In the NFHS Rule Book, Rule 3-3-1(c), Bench and Field Conduct, “A coach, player, substitute, attendant or other bench personnel shall not carelessly throw a bat;”

Hmmm.......wonder why?

You think we have time to pack up everything and move while they’re gone?
