Yep.  The CVT in my Maxima is a JATCO.

Contrarian view. I enjoy the CVT in my 2012 Maxima. With 175,000 miles on it, it’s be thoroughly reliable and fits the car quite well. (I have done regular maintenance including CVT fluid changes).  It lets the car be smooth and efficient for highway driving, have a manual mode to play with, and have some fun with a

Expired registrations are a big deal in NJ and NY. I got a ticket for an expired registration Lincoln Tunnel. It was out by like 2 days and carried a large fine, like $175 circa 1998. The Port Authority police would stand at the local surface entrances looking for expired inspections and registrations.

I’ve seen

I don’t get the CVT hatred. I’ve been driving a Maxima with a CVT since 2009 (a 2009, then a 2012). It delivers a very pleasant driving experience that can be quite sporty in manual mode.

I’d live a set of these on my boat to clear off the salt water spray.  The current arms have a washer nozzle on them, but it’s not a great spray pattern.

Damn, this is sad news. Maxima has long been one of my favorite cars, going back to the 90's.

I’ve owned a 7th gen Maxima for 13 years and been extremely happy with it. First a 2009, and now a 2012. It’s been quick, comfortable, and extremely reliable with mostly basic regular maintenance.

The Altima just isn’t

Now playing

Seems like Elon needs to take a page from the marine industry and go with a straight-line wiper.

Can we please acknowledge the fairly strong possibility that this guy’s DD is probably something completely awesome? Let the wild speculation begin!

Speaking as someone that owns an actual, physical motor yacht worth roughly the same as that virtual yacht, this is utterly stupid. And yes, owning a real boat is kind of a form of insanity as well.

Also, that virtual yacht is effing ugly with no aesthetically redeeming qualities. It’s an insult to pretty boats

Sounds kinda like my upper middle class suburban neighborhood. I too have a G35 guy with a stupid loud exhaust. And also a Mercedes E-class with a crackle-gurgle exhaust - he likes to intentionally rev approaching the stop sign to announce his presence. When they take off I can hear them several miles away.

Then

Except - when you can hear it from 3 miles away and the owner regularly drives a circuit around the neighborhood. And there are multiple with obnoxiously loud exhaust all driving around at roughly the same time.  And the noise means you can’t hold a conversation with your wife sitting at the patio table next to you.

My inlaws had two of these vans and LOVED them. They were comfortable to drive and ride in, had removeable seats (kinda a novelty for the time), and were very reliable.

The last one had nearly 200,000 miles on the clock when my father inlaw sold it to his small aerospace company as a work van. My mother inlaw actually

Paying the cyclists a bunch of money to make this go away it probably better for the cyclist then just putting the kid in jail.

To be fair, the speed bumps at Trader Joes can be pretty nasty....

This is not a Tesla thing, this is an entire auto industry thing.

This is described sleeping on a boat too, which is also awesome.

Jeez, the rails actually jumped up from the impact! Something toward the right side of the bridge actually popped up a few feet. I hope to heck the inspectors to a thorough job - I wouldn’t be surprised if some of the rail hold downs were dislodged.

1st Gen GMC Acadia has the battery in a similar location - under a panel by the right middle-row passenger’s feet. Also has terminals on the firewall in the engine bay for jump starts.

This thought seems right. I had a 1987 Taurus with the electronic dashboard and speedo. Was disappointed to find on a big downhill section of I-78 that it maxed out at 85.
