That a rerun of a by the numbers turd like Blue Bloods can double the viewership of a new episode of Hannibal is a sad commentary on TV viewership at large. It's the equivalent of Wilco vs Nickelback. Rest assured Nickrlback sells a ton more records. People are idiots.
I wonder if the viewership issues are related to channel and time slot. The show reminds me of FNL, another show that was way too good for NBC and buried on Friday nights. If Hannibal is on HBO, or even AMC or FX, it might be a national phenomenon. This is especially true, albeit disgustingly so, due to the high end…
It makes me feel like a prick to say, but, in all likelihood, it is just too sophisticated a show for a massive North American audience (and yeah, a Friday night slot doesn't help it either).
I think the main reasons nobody is watching it is that it's not packaged correctly for the type of people who would be into it - i.e. those who liked the movies and books + those who like good TV. Those people don't watch Friday night network shows that look like procedurals, and the people that do apparently need…
Never been that bad? Tell that to the little Asian boy that ate Ray Liotta's brain.
Nothing witty to say - just that it's the best show on television by a fairly wide margin.
First time I actually got the sense he was a puppet master that was smarter than everyone in the room. And the first time I felt like he was a complete and utter psychopath
I'm going to say it, I think that Mads Mikkelsen's Hannibal is far and away the best portrayal of Hannibal - better than Hopkins. Hopkins was always too over the top for me. I even like Cox better on Manhunter.
Based upon ALL of the restrictions of network television AND that NBC placed it in the "time-slot-of-death", Hannibal is the best show on television (and I am a huge Game of Thrones fan). Visually, Bryan Fuller is Wes Anderson's sociopathic half-brother brother from Milan. I cannot recommend this show enough...on an…
One of the best shows on TV now and one of the best I've seen. I haven't meet a person that has seen this show that doesn't love it, and feel twisted doing so.
Top 5 Sunny episodes...GO!
And he was one of the best parts of "Pacific Rim"! Well, him and Charlie Hunnam's manly, manly pain. And torso.
Not a lot of geeks in these comments apparently, but he was adorable in Pacific Rim, too. Like if Charlie Kelly was smart.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: Always Sunny is not only hilarious, but also the most progressive sitcom on TV right now. (Louie isn't really a sitcom.)
All the main characters in that show are dumb, evil, and crazy, but they all have their specialties. Frank and Charlie = crazy. Mac = dumb. The Reynolds twins = evil.
As a gay man, it's all Mac all the time and it's not even a question. Charlie would be my #2. Dennis isn't as pretty as the show wants him to be.
