My issue with the old style is that it reminds me of ff12 and vagrant story. All the details look like they’ve been put through a gaussian blur and look too soft. I don’t mind moving to a more anime-esque look to get away from that ugly detail work.

Pretty sure Tifa has the highest natural luck. I had no success with anyone, but I fought him multiple times and Tifa stole it reliably each time.
The colors of the Hell House’s windows indicate its current weakness. When it does its flight into the air and circles the arena, if you can hit it with its current weakness twice before it comes back down, it’s basically an immediate stagger. Make sure Aerith has her doubling ward ability and it’s pretty easy to pull…
It’s trial and error. Many of the spells you’re being hit with in that final fight you’ve seen plenty of times before. Certain magical attacks can be dodged, but lock on and run around your opponent works better for most of the magic attacks. Thundaga and Firaga are pretty easily dodged this way. Aeroga and Blizzaga…
To be fair, they don’t explain the Turks super well in the original game either. One of the things this game does is get in your face alot more with info rather than relegating it to world building lore that you can find. While there is still lore, it’s nice to see some of the finer points actually made as part of the…
While I’m not going to outright spoil this game’s story, there are changes that will have ramifications in the remaining games. There’s a reason why this game isn’t called Part 1.

The combat ‘clicks’ ironically on the escape from the first reactor imho. Borrow it from a friend and give it til you reach the slums. While it borrows some from Final Fantasy XV’s combat, it improves on pretty much everything, especially the magic system. It’s also sports a better version of FF13's stagger system,…

Let him borrow the game after you’re finished if you really want him to try it, but it doesn’t sound like he even likes RPGs and likes games with a short gameplay loop that he can replay. FF games are like anime and they don’t know how to be subtle about their messages. Your friend is not the right audience for this…

You didn't read the last paragraph, did you? I mentioned it.
It sure hasn’t happened yet. I live in Texas and I still cant buy toilet paper, eggs, bread, sugar, most spices, flour, cornmeal, and any shelf-stable boxed or canned goods. Meat and veggies aren’t currently a problem. Oh and processed garbage. Plenty of that shit still around.
I grew up in a very conservative place and encountered the same thing. You call it philosophy, I call it indoctrination. They teach you here that there’s nothing wrong in the USA and that things like racism and greed are behind us while conveniently cutting out the stuff that makes it look bad from textbooks. It…
Pretty sure this is just the beginning. When decent internet and the necessary hardware become cheaper than running a school facility, we’ll likely see the transition occur permanently. Most kids have a phone, a tablet, a game console and a TV and nearly all of those items have remote conferencing options. I’d argue…
Yep, I saw that comment too about someone’s experience with the original being difficult. I played Ori about 3 years ago. I play Super Metroid maybe once a year. My experience was that Metroid is overall a harder game mostly because the mechanics are a limiting factor with the limited shooting directions, the floaty…
I hope this is serious as one of my chief complaints about the game (despite loving it) was that the game was too easy. While I don’t think it needs to be as difficult as a game like Hollow Knight, I would like something more on par with Super Metroid or perhaps a little more difficult. Here’s hoping this fills the Met…
The company is the problem, not the concept. Gamestop has no chance of reinventing themselves. They’ve tarnished their name and ruined their relationship with most of the customers they’re trying to entice with this. Nobody in their right mind would go there to ‘hang out’ when they walk up to you every 5 minutes to…
The ‘physical release’ crowd is a minority. And it’s a minority where the convenience of digital and the promise of continued support for older purchased games is eroding the population. The only reason I go into game stores for physical releases anymore is when I’m looking to add to my retro collection. Games are…
It’s not that surprising really and it’s a solution that could work, if they did it about 10 years ago. They’re basically trying to marry the video game store with the local game store, which many places have successfully done already. Local game stores make money from selling stuff and holding tournaments for board…
Get fucked
Racism isn’t the right word I would say. They don’t even like Japanese people with different features. If your hair is the wrong color, they expect you to dye it. If you have visible tattoos, you’re automatically treated as a criminal. If your skin color isn’t quite the same as everyone else’s, they expect you to use…
While I think it’s wrong for people to work that many hours, I also understand (as a former software dev myself) how you can easily lose track of time. Each new step towards completion on a project you’re passionate about can be an endorphin rush. I think a place that has this kind of work ethic or expectation should…
