lotus can totally do what it wants as long as they are adding lightness and driving pleasure in the mix. Heck, subaru is doing well cultivating market share by sticking to their values, and so can lotus. A nice hatch with a crossover variant formula might just work!

I have to agree with you a 100% on this. Imagine a Mazdaspeed 6 with fatter tires and some nice aero treatment, somewhere in the low 30k...

I'm banking on Mazda coming out with a super-hybrid-rotary engine, where it can use hydrogen not only to power the wankel engine, but powers the electric motor(s) to drive the wheels. And with skyactiv i eloop system which takes advantage of condensers' fast charging property, it may need less hydrogen to carry

Had a '88 Celica GT. In many ways it was a great car even though it was no GT-S. Miss it. Wish I still had it. It got a great gas milage, and before the alternator started dying on a regular basis, it was just so fun to drive. Used to chase high schools kids in cars at night in the snow in Nashville. I could see the

The nose looks great, but just getting tired of the same ol' design language used by many auto designers: Wondering what's the next fad after these cat-eyes.

Now, does "for Women" mean in Amurica: "not angular-looking enough", or "not macho-looking enough"? I hate to say this, but anytime there is some rounded design implemented, people in the U.S. translate it to "too feminine"… thus "for Women."

The Fairlady Z and the 240 ZG were and still are my dream cars. That and the Lancia Fulvia.

+1. There is a lot to be said about badges and what they represent: Opposite things can be said about cars like the Mazda 6 (if not directly the same logic): if it was wearing an Alfa badge, it would probably be a super cult hero car, if not a box office smash hit that it deserves to be.

Me has exotic!

I don't know if this article makes me feel better about choosing to buy my WRX wagon over the GTI or the A3: I figured most people would've went the VW/Audi route. But then again, that was in 2006. Thoughts?

Dear Chris,

If the original NSX wasn't so innovative and bucking awesome, then I guess the disappointment of being bock-blocked for 7 years, only to be out done by the new Ford GT, wouldn't have been so tremendous! And to add, Soichiro-era Hondas, and early Acuras like the Integra, add to the mystique of "what could have been if

That is a very interesting point, sir. Three donut points for you!

I am secretly a big fan of this Infiniti M/Nissan Gloria thing. I getting one when I get my hit man's license.

Great article Doug! So much so that if the price of 996 Turbo does go up in the used car market, I'll make you personally responsible for it! :)

From the looks of it when folded, it doesn't look that much more compact than my dahon vector p8. Novelty at best, an answer to a question no-one asked for the most part, and an European version of a Japanese idea at worst.

+1

Do we reAlly need another A series from Audi? With a gaping mouth? PleAse, how about a 2002 reissue or something?

crackpipe for the FWD idea! :-)
