I'd love to see a movie on Soichiro Honda. His humble beginning in the war-devastated Japan, his ingenious approach to making reliable but affordable bikes that became icons of the era, and revolutionary car engineering that culminated in the Honda F1 machines.

The scariest thing that happened to me was losing control of my Celica on a sheet of ice over a bridge on I 65. Did a 360 with a 18 wheeler going past me, seeing the stars and constellations going round and round and round before my eyes. Came to a halt, thank god, at the shoulder of the interstate facing the

I'll take a white one, and.call it the Storm Trooper!

Only in America, you would survive those kinds of spins! If you did that in Japan you would've knocked out a few ramen stands, along with a few pachinko parlors before a complete stop!

My Scoobie parked in front of our house.

I totally agree with you. For the LFA, like the 2000GT, the object of its existence was to showcase the extent to which Toyota(not Lexus, necessarily) was able to accomplish technical tour de force without any regard to cost. And that's what they did. Look at the 2000GT today and when it was released: Back then,

Good to see Porsche, one of enthusiasts' favorite, up there amongst the top ranking.

Buick is surprisingly at the relative top of the ranking at #6, which is 6 points up from the last ranking. What are they doing better than the other GM divisions? Is it because they are more focused on the Chinese market?

Nissan at #16, behind BMW's at #14: So if I were to just go by Consumer Report's results, I would feel so good to own the Ultimate Driving Machine, I guess :)

Audi vs Volkswagen: #5 vs #17: A pretty big margin for cars that share platforms. Do Audi cars get extra process to apply "quality spray"? :)

Ahh, looks like the cop was on his way to the neighborhood Dunkin Donuts…Nothing to look at here!

I absolutely LOVE and HATE supercars. Without them, I would not be here reading and commenting on Jalop. But lately, I cannot deny I've come to be indifferent to them as well.

I always liked real names over alpha numeric names for cars. Growing up, I never understood why Datsun/Nissan had to rename every car that they exported. Bluebird got changed to 510/610, Violet got changed to 710, Sunny to B210, Sylvia got changed to 240SX, and of course, Fairlady Z got changed to 240 Z, 260 Z, 280 Z,

The Nissan Foria from 2005! This elegant coupe has FR, compact dimensions, and 2+2/clamshell doors. In its concept form, it is more upscale than the BRZ/FR-S, but they could have tweaked it to have a more basic variant, a la the Idx, and had a good competitor in that segment.

Re: "it's worse in Japan": I second that! I am a japanese national and got the "surly" comments from my instructor when transferring my license from U.S. to Japan. I thought it was just me! On top of that, it wasn't just the instructor that was douchy: when I was in line in the booth for the id photo, the woman clerk

Thanks, Jalop, for being on top of all this government misinformation/secrecy.

davedave: Hats off to you sir! COTD!? I think yours is the most creative post here! Who would think the Morgan has a factory wide body? and they added an extra wheel while at it!

Man I really love this thing! Looks to me like a modern version of the original Land Cruiser. The Wrangler costs around £30k($52k) in UK, so it's not that much less expensive…Just saying...

I was hoping the lightest variant (Ecoboost Fastback) would be around 3.3k lb…but the thing looks great!

Yes, I'm a bit confused as well. Also, what kind of proprietary information are we talking about being stolen, other than the general design and the fact that these both share narrow front track/wide rear track? I want to know, just to be in the know.
