It really depends on how much snow you’re getting. Like in the coastal northeast up to north Massachusetts, its not really worth it for the 6 days a year where you may be driving in actual wintry conditions.  Getting around fine is good enough.  You need a hardy winter to need winter tires, but they try to sell them

If you have a reverse traffic commute, manual really gets your day started right. I have two cars and while the automatic is more thoughtless to get to the market, if I have any stretch of open road infront of me, I’m choosing the manual.

The problem with the Eternals is that they are bad characters. Even the comic books have dropped them half a dozen times. They are too far outside of what everyone else in the comics is doing. They are basically flat DC characters ported over.

I feel bad for Martin. His best work was probably the first few books of a song of fire and ice and he has no idea how to get back there. He splits his attention dabbling into these other projects because he doesn’t want to be responsible for landing the plane on any of them, he got gun shy.

You need a warrant to collect DNA for a reason. This is an invasion of privacy. Why would you want to trust the government with your dna for all time?

Don’t look up didn’t feel nearly as self righteous as people make it sound. People make it sound like a finger jumped out of the screen and wagged at these poor reviewers. I think a lot of it is just the expectations that you have when you went it. There hasn’t been a satire like this in a long time and reviewers

Like the producers, Bye Bye Birdie, In Like Flint, etc. Yes, this movie is in that range, and similarly misunderstood in its time.

I think the shallow read is one that’s going to slip away with age. Its a reflection of a shallow time and it didn’t help that it spins out modern politics that are already exhausting most people. But in 5 years, lets say the major debated topics of the day aren’t the science of covid, vaccines, climate change, etc.

Don’t Look Up feels like a classic, not as good as, but certainly the closest in the last 20 years, to Dr. Strangelove. It was also misunderstood by a lot of people at its release, and really gained appreciation as the years went by. People are going to learn how to watch it. When to laugh, how to sit with the

In order to make Cruise believable, he had to have a chip on his shoulder, which luckily Cruise can play in his sleep. But its definitely a story about a little guy facing bigger opposition, and it plays in every scene in how each character approaches cruise. Noone is ever intimidated and they constantly underestimate

Anti semitism predates race as a construct, and was often led by the christian church.

Suni is specifically talking about the HMONG community no gender specified and you used that to circle all the way through anti-blackness to MRAsians. Which is strange because the rare instances of antiblackness I have experienced in asian communities, from my relationships with asian women has been from women: Mom’s,

I loved Noises Off as a kid

This is not the one people are referring to. Its the one from the Netflix cancellation of the shows, and the 2 year bar on them appearing anywhere else. Its like two year old where he says, we’d like to use them but, we don’t have the rights and we don’t know if the characters will be in the same form.

  • The season’s strangest dangling thread is that detective who called Kate to come in for questioning about her apartment fire. Why even introduce that subplot at all? My only hope is that it means we’re also getting the return of Royce Johnson’s Detective Brett Mahoney, one of my favorite Daredevil recurring players.

They were in a version of the MCU but it was never confirmed that it was the same multiverse. Kevin Feige has always hedged his bets about how the characters will the formal MCU version.

One this I like about hook is that on first viewing, the viewpoint went from this is a lot of fun to this is okay. Since then, its reputation has gone to this is just bad.

Here he is, the guy that shouts the dissenting opinion.  Thank you for your baiting. I look forward to the comments.

I think he believed that the interest in the Big Short, was because of his brilliant directing and not because it was an “interesting” primer on exactly what happened. Vice is a worse version of the same obsession, to make the minutia of how these things happened compelling. We’ll see what don’t look up brings out of

Why is noone talking about alice sebold?
