Nancy Pelosi is such a “leader” because she can raise money for the party from sources that would normally go republican. Typically the sources are meaningless, noncontroversial, and near the right of center. For a long time the AIPAC was one of these sources. Now that Israel is worse.

Most of my info comes from conversations years ago with fellow grad students from brazil. I didn’t know that there was another story other than the official one. Was there not a large pattern of corruption?
