I think it’s less that she’s embraced her white privelge, and more that she’s embraced being an UWS/UES New Yorker. She’s completely cut off from any real world debates or intellectual discussions, unless their dealt with in the New Yorker, NYT/WAPO, or a cover story on New York Mag (but only the cover stories...).

So, the top two when you went on (apparently five seconds after posting) aren’t the top two anymore, apparently.

Do you expect us to research the history of commenters before starring? I’m not sure which comments you’re talking about, but at least one of the top two seem reasonable.

I had been a fan of Tina for years, but she’s definitely someone who has embraced her white privilege. I think she’s a good person; but once someone reaches a certain level of success, I think something happens to their brains that fucks with their empathy. Maybe the money, or maybe the fame. Probably both.

It’s not like the bottle sends a message that says, “Girls, your body is all that’s important to the point where we’ll actually remove anything else that could lead to accomplishment — legs for sports, hands for art or trades, head for intellect. What’s left is all you should think about if you want to be like me.”

Who says most Americans haven’t met a Muslim and he’s the only one they know of? Most Americans in certain parts of the country, maybe. People know who Aziz Ansari, Mahershala Ali, and Muhammad Ali are. And there’s no way you don’t see Muslims all the time if you live in the New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, or

Because all that matters is a man’s mean stroke game!! Kidding.

Are you kidding? Have you seen teens nowadays? They have fancy phones, get gel manicures at $40 a pop and wear shorts with their asses hanging out. Clearly, lots of parents give in to whatever teens ask for.

Yeah, someone who would leave his/her home behind, with little more than the clothes on their backs, to trek 3,000 miles to an unfamiliar country with no prospects of a job waiting for them, and who’s not even sure if they will be allowed to enter that country, must be someone who “run[s] from their troubles when the

He looks okay, but something about his voice and line delivery is just all wrong. It might feel different when it’s not just clips, but so far it feels less like a bad impression and just... not like Han Solo at all.

The movie is intriguing as hell to me and I’ll be there opening night for sure. Donald Glover looks FLY AF as Lando and I’m all about it. I am not, however, sold on this dude that’s gonna be playing as Han but, really, would I be sold on anyone? Likely not.

My little sister’s first crush, at age 3 or 4, was Darth Vader. She was watching Star Wars for the first time and immediately upon his appearance she delightedly yelled, “It’s the Snooze!” (Referencing his breathing, I guess.)

I was around 5 when I fell for Han Solo. I want this movie to be good! I love Donald Glover and Thandie Newton and Woody Harrelson and Emilia Clarke. I’m concerned about the not Harrison Ford voice though.

I’ll go see this. But for real, can we get Lando: A Star Wars movie, please??? Donald Glover has 10x the charisma of this Han.

Harrison Ford has been the biggest part of my sexual thoughts since the early 80s.

I was 7 in ‘89 when Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade was released. So I totally understand where you are coming from. I saw Star Wars for the first time on television a few years later and as much as I loved it (it was my favorite movie for four years, between Casablanca and Mulan), I still find Dr. Jones’

My first 2 crushes were David Bowie in Labyrinth and Han Solo. I was 5. When the rerelease hit I was in grade 7 and goddamn was the love reunited. I read all the Han Solo-centric books I could get my hands on. I feel obligated to see this even though it’s likely crap. I wish I felt it would work. We’ll see.

Same. I saw Han on the big screen in a re-release sometime circa 1980 when I was 9. Like you, it was love at first sight. Then along came Indiana Jones a few years later. Young (and youngish) Harrison Ford was a BIG part of my first sexual thoughts. Especially as Han. I had a huge Han Solo poster on my bedroom wall

This is just an excuse for me to ogle Donald Glover on a movie theater screen, rather than my teevee. He is dreamy.
