I stopped watching after the first episode. I'll keep an eye out on the AV Club to see if it improves substantially, but for now I'm out. This was exceedingly awful in every way, shape, and form.

Great miniseries. I can't wait for what David Simon has up his sleeve next.

I couldn't get into "Newsroom" for several reasons, but if he liked it, then who cares? I read reviews and write them because I want to share my opinion on a piece. That being said, pilots don't "suck" inherently because they're pilots ("Homeland", "Thrones", "Mad Men", and "Breaking Bad" would like to have a word).

If they had just focused on Ani and Ray, it would have been a lot better.

Just because something isn't enjoyable doesn't mean it lacks quality. The impression I'm garnering from this review is the reviewer doesn't enjoy bleakness (I understand shows becoming too dark for their own good), but that tone by itself doesn't warrant a C-. This was a slow episode in my opinion, but worthy of at

"Yes, there are names on them, sweetpea. That’s how contracts work." One of the best lines in an AV Club review yet.

That Billie Piper was not nominated for this episode is atrocious.

9-10 isn't that odd. Showtime rarely goes beyond 10 and a fair number of series go with 8 (British ones even less). As it is, the production value on the show is fairly high as well.

This episode was beyond dull. Holy cow. Thank goodness for Ray beating up that doctor, however. It might be the most pleasure I've garnered this entire season.

This show is phenomenally gorgeous.

For heaven's sake, what a rout and not in a good way, either. The writing has been astonishingly awful this season and on a character note, I don't know why Paul exists as an actual character.

Mildly better than the previous installments, but that's not saying much. I really wanted to avoid Season 1 comparisons, but there was a philosophical element to its writing that simply doesn't exist here.

The dialogue is really painful this season.

Great finale and a solid, emotional swan song for Armando Ianucci.

I'm not loving this season yet, to be honest. I miss the mysticism and philosophy of the previous. Thank goodness for Rachel McAdams.

A strong start for the second season. I agree about Sabine, however. It feels like she's simply the bomb girl who's also a mechanic and little else. I look forward to her getting more development.

Ha, that was fantastic.

Solid season and I look very much forward to the expansion of the Northern rebellion in Season 6.

Thank you so much!
