Can I just say how goddamn refreshing it is to have a satisfying finale episode? It feels like we haven’t had one since (arguably) the first series of New Who.

Damn Wakandan highway department not covering the potholes!

They haven’t actually announced that it’s going to be on US Netflix? So you didn’t really understand at all. The deal was for outside the US. So if you had a chance to see it in the theater, you’re not getting it on Netflix for a long time (if at all), and it’s not a Netflix original.

I don’t really think any movie needs an excuse to make giant monsters destroy buildings, for me personally. I’m happy if they do a good job with the characters and it’s fun, but if you just say “this monster’s fucking up the city”, I’m good.

Thank you for being the one site here that included Mandy and Annihilation in your best ofs.

Yes, Mandy, the movie that people were going out of their way to see in theaters instead of on VOD cos they loved it so much and the studio started *adding* more theater showings instead of winding the theater run down like most simultaneous releases, nobody saw that. The movie that a whole bunch of people are

I finally watched the 1981 film Possession. It was amazing. I’m seriously considering buying the limited edition Blu-ray.

I mean, that’s kind of been a talking point of fascist idiots for years before Donald Trump. Fucking Metal Gear Rising’s big villain even said it exactly, years before Trump even started campaigning.

Annihilation was so close to being fantastic for me. It’s still a really, really good movie but I really dislike the framing device, especially when it overexplains things I’m already picking up on.

This here. I was floored. I was still in the wake of how amazed I was by Zulawsky’s Possession, which I watched for the first time this year. I watched Mandy maybe a week later and both are all-time favorites for me.

If you’ve seen his Twitter, Kojima is going nuts for Mandy, to the point where they sent him a copy of the Limited Edition Blu-ray for promoting the movie non-stop, buying the soundtrack, etc..

I finished Dragon Age: Inquisition earlier this week, clocking in at around 110 hours. It’s better than Dragon Age II in most respects but it’s also apparent that Dragon Age: Origins was a fluke and there will never be another great Dragon Age game. Inquisition is full of too many fetch quests and collect-a-thons,

They (along with Manga Entertainment) helped a lot. Even if a lot of the things they licensed weren’t that great. However, they have my ire for providing sub and dub options and decent transfers for the anime, but making one of the most notoriously low quality official Godzilla releases ever.

There were some problems with licensing of 3.0 that made it come out in the US a long time after the Japanese, especially compared to the quick turnaround on the releases of the first two. I’m of course glad Anno took a break between the last two, since I got Shin Godzilla, and they’ve been posting online to prove to

Interesting.

It’s ridiculous that whole thing with ADV going under we lost a way to get DVD sets without paying ridiculous prices and held back an HD release here for way too long.

I’m curious as to what the source for these will be. I’ve seen some comparisons that show the Japanese Blu-rays lost a lot of detail on some episodes cos they didn’t have the 16mm elements and instead used the 35mm blow up as a source.

There’s only one left isn’t there? 3.0 was released by Funimation here a few years ago and the last one is currently being worked on.

I’d just like to note that I have no idea why he has a credit on the 1998 Godzilla, as the entire story and script he worked on (the 1994 version) was thrown out in favor of the what Emmerich and Devlin were doing. It’s so infamous it actually has a currently releasing online comic adapted from the 1994 version,

For all his faults, at least George Lucas never promised Yoda being in a relationship with a force using nazi and then backed out on it.
