Yo, Aimee, Derren Brown has done loads of documentaries debunking pseudoscience and supposed miracles. He makes no pretence that what he does is magical or gifted. But he does do what he does, and regularly tours live.

McGavin and Dillon are most of that movie’s charm for me, though I have also always appreciated that Ralphie is allowed to be a believable, selfish kid instead of a cloyingly sweet Christmas movie kid.
Even though the movie was made in 1983 about a family in 1939, it really captures the countless moments that define childhood for many/most of us. Things like...
“the appeal of A Christmas Story has always been a bit lost on me. There’s just not much depth to the story of Ralpie’s childhood desire for a gun-filled Christmas,”
I’ve always thought the lasting appeal of A Christmas Story was the simple and relatively bullshit free approach to the holiday. There’s no grand holiday message or attempt to pander. A kid in the 40's wants a BB gun and gets one the end. A climatic scene even takes place on the toilet.
Might watch this later on, because I love A Christmas Story. I firmly believe it’s the most American film ever made. If you wanted to show someone from another country, or aliens what it’s like to be an American, you’d show them A Christmas Story.
As a former worker in retail, the last thing I wanted was to be on a first name basis with every customer. That sounds exhausting. Be nice, be civil at least, and don’t treat me like your servant, absolutely. But I know we’re not friends, and I’m okay with it.
If you don’t know the names of the people who ring you up at the bodega on a near daily basis, you’re kind of a shitty person
“and the ONLY reason Duffers added it in was BECAUSE it made Sink uncomfortable”
I agree 100% with everything you just said. It’s easily one of my new favorite shows (ever) and I thought the finale was fantastic. The suspenseful ending with Ed was perfect. I don’t know how anyone could give this finale a C.
Yup the only reason to watch would be to know Chris Elliott is in it. If you know who the guest star is, whats the point in even watching 22 minutes of a show!
I was wondering where we could go to say this. I used to love reading old comments on Disqus going back to the aughts.
