Way back in the early 80's when I got my DL, that adage of “I’m safer in a big American piece of Iron then driving a rice box” was still very prevalent. My neighbors were like that (a string of Buick 225 Electras laid testament to that) Granted the law of masses BUT, my (euro orphan) 76 Capri could out handle/brake

I suspect you are more in the “lucky” camp since Ford is eating a lot of cost to replace those parts when they fail.

I was visiting family in UK back in 2000ish and stopped by an Alfa Dealer. Sat in one of the Brera’s on the showroom floor and just started drooling... Couple other trips over there and I’ve seen them on the road too and they’re still gorgeous cars.

My first thought was an Alfa Romeo Brera, but it only debuted at Geneva in 2002...so close.

Gen X’r totally agreeing with you EXCEPT on the E Type coupe. If you are trying to reverse engineer to keep prices more approachable I applaud you, but design wise I’ve always thought the coupes were gorgeous. And here’s my blasphemous statement: “Certainly far better looking than the convertibles when they’ve got

Temerian from Curated probably already knew the VIN on the Lambo...

Funny, I’ve always referred to my S5 as a Mustang in a Suit. I like the Mustang but I leaned into the S5 for the Quattro as I’m in the Northeast and its my DD. I’ve toyed with a used EcoBoost Mustang though with decent all seasons (and maybe old schooling it with a bag of sand in the trunk)

The one that will replace my 09 Audi S5. Don’t know exactly what that will be yet though!

So much stupid on this.

I nominate a Chrysler, err Maserati TC . Essentially a more stylish version of the Lebaron of that generation with the added European flare for potential “character” of Italian build. And if you are really keen on something quirky find the one year only 16V 2.2 which according to one article “was in itself the product

Came here to recommend too, but as an owner of an S5, I can tell you those rear seats are aspirational for adult occupancy.  I’ve had my teen daughter and her friend fit but it was a short ride and I had to move my and the passenger seat up.

zactly! I can’t remember any of the greatest drivers in the modern era (2000 on) ever displaying this consistent childish behavior. Sure, most drivers will get rightly triggered in certain moments but he’s consistent when things don’t go his way. The only person I can think of was Jacques Villeneuve but I just think

Being born in the earliest end of the Gen X I can indeed remember the switch over to unleaded. I would imagine that since we’re talking emissions that the affect would be more heightened in urban areas or areas nearest highways and busy thorofares.

They’ve had plenty of opportunities in the past when he was regularly clash/crashing with Lewis. I mean there are some rules now that are specifically Max inspired but he’s always been and always will be a petulant baby who will never repent.

1992 me and 2 buddies are going to do 10days in Europe starting in Munich, then through Austria, Italy, back up to Berlin and return in Munich. I’ve driven in Europe a lot prior so no worries really. Initially good start when picking up my rental instead of the Opel / Vauxhall Cavalier I got a Lancia Delta HF Turbo. A

I’ll nominate the Hyundai Ionic 6. From some angles its almost a 4 door Porschesque look but not in a good way yet, from other angles it reminds me of the old Cadillace Seville with that abbreviated trunk.  In either case its an awkward car that just reached too far.

Your’s was the more rounded nose version and dash was different to mine. otherwise they were nearly identical mechanically other than the gear rations in the MT. Mine was still solid as a rock at 150K miles. PO had taken really good care of it. I did the same and really only had one or two niggles along the way.

I only omitted the name because I couldn’t remember if it was Meineke or Midas. Both cut from the same stone.

Was a great car.  Nice gear box, comfy roomy interior, ate up miles and was good looking.

I loved this car. Bought it with 80K miles on the clock, sold it three years and 75K miles later for a brand new GTi. Bought at the height of the unintended acceleration debacle for the Audi 5000's which meant I got my for a steal and didn’t care about the unintended acceleration because it was a manual. The first
