Grand Central in NY has a specialized Fire “Truck” that handles the small stuff very quickly.  I think part of our / US problem is that outside of major cities, the Fire Dept’s are tasked with longer distances to the fire locations and hence need all the equipment on board just in case.

indeed!

Would potentially be a horrible scene for sure.

If she was in a restricted area then she wasn’t on the carousel. The baggage system that courses through most airports is not a place to play around and the belts and drives are totally unforgiving if you get somehow snagged or pulled into them.

I’ve had my driver’s license for over 40 yrs now and have received numerous speeding tickets in the first 20 or so yrs I was driving and riding my motorcycles. 2 moments stand out as dumb:

If GM doesn’t actually own any of these, it might be time for them to buy one back. They really are just promotional vehicles and no amount of altering them can change their intended use without changing their overall look. I mean, they have no windows so you can’t use it as a repurposed RV. It won’t work as a toy

Any good full size GM from the early 70's will accommodate as long as you bring a few “friends of mine”

Any anonymous windowless white work van. It’s got the payload capacity, you can hose it out, plenty of room to have a onboard deep freeze or even a table to otherwise handle the carcass and no one pays attention to them when they’re parked so you can take your time and do it right....

Interesting. In the past 10yrs of test driving cars to replace our leases/purchases at best they’ve quickly photocopied my DL and then said “ok, lets get you that test drive” . Mind you I’m now a middle to late aged father test driving SUV’s not a Hellcat or similar High Performance vehicle so I’d hope that they’d

Is a Dealership expected to run a criminal background check on a potential driver?  Is that even legal? I get that the dealer is responsible for the Salesman especially if he’s been publishing that his test rides will be something more.  I assume they checked that he had a license in hand to begin with, but can/do

Scrolling through the 156 pics and I am struck by just how “used” this thing is.  There is so much general wear and it has 58K on the clock.  The paint looks like it was layed on in one heavy coat or maybe the whole thing was repainted and done really heavy.  Those helper wheels tucked under the ass have me intrigued

and a full can of energy drink into the footwell

Max for one does and did at Hungary as he torpedo’d into LH. I think they all do at times, but LH has also been known for someone who knows how to preserve his tires. I think he was racing hard knowing that he was near the end and he was always (short of something crazy) gonna come in at least 2nd so why not really

any thoughts on why he was hooking up better coming out of them?

I wonder if the tires getting smaller due to wear was what was giving him that ability to launch out of the turns better? I mean the overall diameter would have been marginally reduced more so than normal which would also explain why Lewis couldn’t match him out of the turns. Martin kept making mention of how

That gutsy call in a team known for analyzing every detail of data is what sunk MB’s ship. While I love the gutsy, MB should have done the quick math and said uh George our calc’s show we’ll be in trouble at the end or at the least at the end Toto should have said Please help the fans get a closer look at you so

Ford vs Ferrari was good for sure, but I think that movie was trying to tell the story of the rivalry part of the story whereas Le Mans was telling the story of the racing itself, so the cars and the race feature more prominently as actual characters in a sense.

Compared to LeMans which is right next to this movie in my adoration, its got far more dialog! LOL

This is one of my all time favorites too. I have it on Disk and have watched it innumerable times at full volume for that opening sequence. If I recall correctly, for each Race Track, he employed a different cinematic technique or vision to differentiate amongst the moments in race year that it covers.  The behind the

First Gen “Ford New Edge” styling was far better.
