Say what you will about diminishing quality its hard to argue with a company that maintains a highly profitable market share by dropping a Pokemon game yearly.

I think this time what we’re seeing instead is an arms race to ensure no one enforces exclusivity. Now Sony can use future Bungie games as a bargaining chip to keep MS honest, MS can do the same with COD and Activision properties.

Microsoft is also 23x the size of Sony, and had more cash-on-hand than Sony’s entire market cap.

When it comes to financial power, Microsoft and Sony aren’t in the same league, which is why Microsoft could gobble up a powerhouse like Activision-Blizzard (with far more profitable IPs than Destiny), while Sony had to

It’s almost like the people who comment on all of these articles don’t understand how businesses function, and think the only way to make money is to have “exclusives” for your dumb console, and not like there is any other reason a giant corporation might buy another corporation expect for “console wars”

I mean in fairness Microsoft spent 70 billion and Sony spent 3.6, we are talking a lot less overhead here and Bungie has proven to be reliably good developers when given free reign.

To me the frustrating thing is the people cheering this on. I don’t want the early ‘90s, everything is on one platform or the other but not both environment! Independence is good!

Man AAA development is in a concerning state

The ever increasing price is definitely a scam amongst scams. Either the first few were too cheap or everything after was a ripoff.

How else do you think they afford to build a freaking mansion when everyone else in town is chilling in these tinyhomes?

This dude is absolutely taking advantage of children in front of god and the entire organization and honestly, I gotta respect that. I blame Cyllene for allowing this to continue next to her office, I KNOW she can hear his bullshit.

What amuses (or irritates) me about the people who gripe about how so much gets reused and there is no originality in the games they play simultaneously want nothing to do with unique IPs with the sort of originality they claim they want.

One kinda cool thing with the rise of Indy games in the last couple decades is an appreciation for the art style of older games.  But man in 2001 if you put out a game that looked like an early SNES game,  people would have bitched and moaned.  There are some people that pretty pictures are the only thing they care

Let me join you in atoning for such thoughts.

Yeah, i don’t get these people either. Is your life truly so empty and hollow that complaining about a reused climbing animation is the most important thing going on in your life?

You, Sir, are not a True Gamer™.

A) Re: “Users don’t get it.” I agree, insofar as by “don’t,” he means “won’t,” and by “it,” he means “Ubisoft products.” Hopefully other ignorant users like me will follow suit. These shitheads are chasing money, and cryptobros are shelling out huge wads of cash to get this garbage going for these companies. Only way

I think gamers don’t get what a digital secondary market can bring to them.

He was hired by Ubisoft 2 years ago. He’s been f’ing around with blockchain and suddenly NFTs got big. If this doesn’t pan out he’s out of work...

The end game is about giving players the opportunity to resell their items once they’re finished with them or they’re finished playing the game itself.“

I imagine as he was doing this interview, Ubisoft burning and blowing up around him, his final words being “Its just…good business…”
