This is a very thoughtful and rational comment.

Dean Thomas. Angelina Johnson. There are a whole THREE, excuse me.
Or Kaskyyyk. Where iirc you have to do the sliding maze whenever you want to get to the inner tree. And isn’t there fast travel to the top but not back down? Baffling.
The fast travel in Chained Echoes is so so good. It’s fairly extensive and you can use it anywhere outside of a few key plot moments (but you’re warned before these start). It’s so good that when I go back to God of War Ragnarok I’m a bit frustrated at the amount of manual backtracking required.
Backtracking is a feature bc it’s a Metroidvania. But there’s certainly a time-respectful way of doing this, and Fallen Order definitely had a few places that were huge pains in the ass to get to/from and were just begging for fast travel.
It’s really terrible. Apparently it’s fixed in the full game, but why the hell would you not show your best face in the demo? That turned me off from considering the full game!
Looking at the nature of these announcements, the answer is “no”.
Yeah this is where I struggle. The game already started in a bad spot bc of the woman of color protagonist. But I’ve read enough reviews from places I trust that are pretty consistent about its actual shortcomings. I too want to support it to Fuck the Haters, but I’m also not playing full price for any AAA game with…
Yes I am aware of this. But I’m talking about how the Senate passed a permanent DST bill in 2022 that died in the House (yes, the Democratic-controlled House) because the lobby played its hand.
Makes me really want to stop using these services! But what alternative do I have? Good ol’ American freedom.
> It makes me wonder what other bizarrely specific lobbies wield that sort of influence.
I thought it was a really good, and I’m not a crazy Star Wars person. I AM a crazy Metroidvania person tho. All in all I found it super engaging with a solid combat system in interesting worlds with a kickass soundtrack.
I don’t think media outlets will cut staff over Twitter verification. They will just deal with the potential troll accounts or leave the service altogether.
Advertisers will bounce if it becomes the hate speech garbage pit of Elon’s dreams, and THAT will leave a major dent. Also he’s charging $20 to have your verification blue check and I imagine a lot of media outlets aren’t gonna pay that for all of their staff.
Because apparently extra eyes make them “adult” and not at all nightmare fuel.
A+ comment.
Gaming remains this weird industry where although it is one of the big kids now, it retains a number of practices/mindsets from its smaller niche days. The aversion to releasing pre-release footage being one of these. It also doesn’t help that nerd/gamer fandom is toxic as shit, and people lose their minds about…
I feel like Jason needs to make a guest appearance here.
If given the option I run my PS5 games on graphics over performance mode every time. Ray tracing and 4k is far more important to me than 60fps. My brain adjusts just fine to 30fps as long as it’s stable. And sometimes the 60 just feels unnatural to me.
