But part of the western draw to FF7 was that it was REALISTIC (lol) and MATURE and GRITTY, and the characters drank and smoked and used profanity, oh my! Even with more competitive hardware from Nintendo, I doubt EB64 would have been able to match that.

My mom used to pan-fry chicken and that leaves a lot of oil waste. As does ground beef, bacon, etc.

People have no self control and get serious FOMO, which is what scalpers are exploiting. The new Zelda amiibo is being scalped for $100+ dollars. Absurd. But also, Nintendo has shown a pattern of reprinting these in due time. That’s not stopping people from stressing about how they want it now, and asking how much

> I’ll never understand why people pre-order new tech

My dude, amiibo have been around since 2014. That’s a long time to be “testing the waters”.

See I can’t agree with this. Certainly there’s a scale, right? On one side there’s Skylanders, where the game was designed with the toys as essential. And on the other side there’s amiibo, where most of the time their scan bonus was added as a “Nice-to-have” thing to make the figures more than just pieces of plastic.

You’ll get one. Nintendo has been reprinting these. Like, the BOTW Champions are currently super easy to find.

This also shouldn’t be called “Fast travel” given how that term is widely understood. If you tell me fast travel is locked behind a toy, I’m imagining some hellish version of Assassin’s Creed where, without the toy, I have to walk everywhere on a giant map. That’s just not the case here.

I can count the number of times I’ve used amiibo for gameplay benefits on one hand. Costumes or gtfo.

Yup. It’s basically Farore’s Wind in dungeons, and how often did you ever use that?

Why do you guys keep misreporting this? It was pointed out when this was announced that you can always fast travel with bird statues. The amiibo just makes it instant, which is nice but not game-breaking. And from a review I read yesterday:

> the tiny wallet after WW’s 10,000 rupee wallet.

I didn’t totally hate them on the Wii U, so I’m looking forward to seeing how it goes with the joycons, which should be superior to the Motion+, right?

Perfect score” reflects hype-fueled reviewers, not normal players. The game was commonly criticized for its long opening, extreme hand-holding, UI failings, and excessive padding. And that’s before we touch upon the divisive motion controls.

I chuckled.

Yup, I’m at ~115 hours and have half the regions left I think? I don’t even remember. Each region is basically like its own mini-game anyway.

Can’t wait for the amiibo.

+ 1 foot deep.

Obviously I’m not a professional athlete, but I have dabbled in competitive sports in my time and I cannot imagine having the wherewithal to do this. If I jump and miss a catch, well oops I fucked up. Not, well let me stretch harder.
