Surprised my gut reaction was “oh maybe cool?”

I love VR but this looks real underwhelming. We didn’t see much but its a weird choice to show a “whoa stereoscopic scale!” moment on a 2D presentation. These moments are fun in VR, but they don’t replace gameplay, and they of course don’t work at all in 2D.

This has clear potential, of course. Sonic 3D never needed open world to be good, but they were so stuck in that boost gameplay maybe this shakeup will help them deliver good 3D sonic that we all know is possible but Sega can never seem to deliver on. Here’s hoping they shamelessly steal from the Sonic Utopia demo.
