Keep in mind, their trying to draw in as many people as possible. Focusing on the most well-known character (and actress) is standard protocol, and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if it turns out to be an ensemble picture. I mean, wait for reviews, but it could be a good BoP movie afterall. 

Last I checked, this was less WB and more Robbie. She producing it and DC basically gave her a blank check creatively since she was the only thing salvageable about SS until Gunn showed up to rehab the franchise.

It makes sense to market the most marketable character out of the bunch, but yeah, that is a little disconcerting. It’ll likely serve as an origin-story of sorts for the other characters with Harley being the lead which could still be cool.

Robbie was legitimately great as Sharon Tate in Once Upon A Time... In Hollywood, and it wouldn’t surprise me if she got a Best Supporting Actress nomination. So it doesn’t surprise me that the studio is showcasing her in the BoP trailers.

Christopher Bird, aka Mightygodking, did a parody of that scene in the format where he basically rescripts the whole book, and it’s great. Brad Meltzer didn’t really understand how fast the Flash was, and just had him run into the sword. 

Could have just created a Harley Quinn movie, without gumming up the idea of a Birds of Prey movie. They don’t need her, in my opinion, but it’s possible the general movie-going audience would be less likely to watch a BoP movie.

Why didn’t they just call it Harley Quinn and the Birds of Prey? So far she’s the only character the marketing cares about. Even the acronym is BOPHQ, because I guess they couldn’t imagine people calling it BOP and forgetting she’s in it.

Had much the same reaction; it’s basically the Harley Quinn movie, with supporting actresses who might get a nod here and there.

The lack of actual Birds of Prey on the Birds of Prey marketing is pretty telling, yes.
