But if I'm looking to buy a 4 door under powered efficient car that I'm going to do nothing but sit in traffic every morning and the occasional road trip then I will probably go with the ol slush box . My fun cars (which for me is a 1983 Mazda RX-7) will always have a third pedal.

Well said sir. I personally think that Nissan has one of the best interiors in the business right now. Mazda is too plasticy, Toyota is too boring and Ford is to iPady I was stunned by the new Altima fully decked out. Even a good dual clutch would make me consider.
