Anyone know if Chrome added the feature to block ads properly? (Right now, ads are always loaded, and then they're removed — with FF, they're never loaded at all, and so do not have to be removed.)

LH really needs a more advanced version of this. While this article is fine for basic users, it's not enough for those who need more features (e.g., automatic contacts and calendar synchronization on smartphones). This, at the very least, means IMAP, and probably exchange. Basically, any solution has to have email,…
I do, but I'm well aware of the issues. Only select people can see my locations.
Nice, although slightly buggy: can't always detect incompatible videos, occasional hangs when trying to play a video (retrying works), etc.. Still, I think it works well enough to be worth paying $2.99. I think I'll get it.
Advanced hack tip: let some of the onions go to seed (fall off the plant naturally), and they'll come back next year (in non-snow climates, at least). This does require patience, though, as onions take a while to grow from seed. The young plants look a bit like grass seedlings, so be careful when weeding. The soil…
@gthing: FB and Google are doing a lot of meh.
I wish Zotero would come out with a version for Chrome ....
@RoofCoffeeCup: I haven't had any problems, although I have heard of such issues. They're supposedly caused by cheap USB cables that don't pass through all of the USB connections, or by chargers that don't implement all of the proper USB connections. Try using a regular data USB cable with your charger; if that…
@Jwink3101: This. I'm pretty sure another lifehacker article talked about this, too.
@SlappyFrog: Yes, but, when all is said and done, would your mother and friend's father be willing to spend upwards of $500? I'm sure most people understand why the price is higher, but most people are still price-sensitive. My guess is that the vast majority of "normals" (that's really an awful name :-) can't…
@SlappyFrog: Not at those price points. People who'd "eat this up" are much more comfortable at the Nook/Kindle price points.
Is my browser broken, or is LH actually pointing to a "liveblog" where we actually have to hit the "refresh" button?
@Balfour: Try using FF's "safe mode". If the problem goes away, it's one of your addons. If the problem is still there, try looking at your privacy options: Tools/Options, Privacy tab. Never remembering history will cause this problem (because no cookies are saved). A custom history setting with cookies disabled…
@nukee: I can't leave FF until the Scrapbook addon gets ported (sorry, I want to snapshot and/or edit ALL of a web page — not just snippets).
@jonathan19: +999
Unless you're doing web development, how is this any better than the BetterPrivacy addon?
@Balfour: That often means that you have a setting or extension that is wiping/clearing (or not saving) your cookies.
@hepatace: +1
@pettiblay: +999. Major math fail, or maybe reading comprehension.
@Badger: +1, too
