I came here for the Metallica puns, AV Club surprisingly delivered.
I finally jumped from XP to Windows 10, only because a new laptop purchase (after 9 years, no less; which I originally downgraded from Windows 7 to XP in the first place) forced me to. Honestly, it's not too bad. So far I'm quite pleased with it for the most part.
If your answer isn't the drum solo in Tool's 46&2, then you're doing it wrong.
Shoegaze aesthetic/influence, more so that traditional "shoegaze" sound. (I think of Shoegaze as a musical aesthetic rather than a genre anyways) Listen to tracks like "Minerva," "Rosemary," "You've Seen the Butcher," and "(L)MIRL." Chino has even admitted to ripping off Hum for the riff to "Knife Prty."
Deftones & SOAD are the only good bands to have come from the Nu-Metal scene (Tool was around long before Nu-Metal was coined imo).
Nah, Deftones definitely aren't prog. If anything, they're Alternative Metal with a strong influence of Shoegaze and Post-Wave. They're experimental in a similar way that Tool was, but where Tool experimented with longer songs and unusual time singatures/structure, Deftones experimented with shoegaze textures, and…
I definitely agree, but there's a lot of work he's done that I'm not necessarily a fan of (most of Audioslave, etc.) in which I still recognize that no matter what he did, he made it his own through the power of his voice. This song, though from a composition standpoint and production standpoint is nothing but…
Plus we don't have significant cases of Miller stealing jokes from other comedians like Dane Cook did. If anything, Amy Schumer is this generation's Dane Cook (for joke stealing - she's not THAT bad guys).
Yeah, I get it kinda sucks - but you're right, what were you expecting? I'm always baffled by people who go to shows like this and then get offended or need to leave part of the way through - in David Cross's most recent stand-up special on Netflix, he mentioned this and couldn't figure out how in the age of Youtube…
I can't wait for "Prime exclusive" organic vegetables
I was at the Chicago show for this tour and it was really good live - but the couple next to me totally was not feeling it; so part of my joy at the show was watching them get more and more uncomfortable the longer the show went on. Also props to The Vic theater for 6 dollar Ranger IPAs.
I'm waiting for someone to do a supercut and edit the entirety of Season 7 down into about 3 or 4 episodes. I feel it would be actually pretty decent if the pacing was appropriate.
This controversy is about as interesting as Season 7
Don't we all?
