Just because your enemy “wants” something doesn’t necessarily mean you should avoid it. Not everything the Daesh true believers want is militarily relevant.
They also want to be martyred, but that’s not going to stop us from helping them out.
I am SHOCKED, SHOCKED, to discover that the administration has no coherent policy for defeating Daesh!!
Awww.... and now you’ve made ME sad :-(
Well... Boeing is still selling 747s for cargo.
Love those majestic old birds. Really hope they can come up with a western solution. It’d be nice to solidify our relationship with Ukraine.
True, although hardly an issue of concern, I would think.
Still disagree. Civilian control over the military is very, very important in a true democracy.
Italians in A-stan had similar ROE...
We’ve had RAF Tornado squadrons train here. They sure tear a hole in the sky when they take off.
I think if you asked the civilians in Daesh-controlled territory, they’d probably say that they’d rather live than die, even under Daesh control. That’s a pretty harsh decision to make that anyone still alive in Daesh-occupied territory deserves to die, even if they sympathize.
A 10 hour debate to go to war? That really doesn’t seem excessive in the least. It’s not a no-brainer.
I can never do that. Reading a biography of Alexander The Great at age 7 will do that.
Now that’s crazy talk...
You could probably mention to them that being a member of NATO makes it 100% less likely that you will be bombed by NATO
As an American, you could make the argument about any of the European countries and Russia. It’s fun to stick your head in the sand, though.
As an American with fairly full knowledge of the history of Yugoslavia, it’s somewhat embarrassing for me to admit that.... I sometimes confuse Montenegro with Herzegovina. :-/
Though I disagree with some of your claims, it’s certainly true that it’s tough to find a coherent reason why the Kurds SHOULDN’T have their own country. The biggest reason seems to be “because it’ll piss off the Turks and Iran”.
It shouldn’t come as any shock that weaker countries traditionally dominated by Russia...were eager to join in a mutual defense organization against Russia.
