This is a good idea. Zoey isn’t the funniest kid on the show, but then Lisa Bonet wasn’t either. As long as she’s surrounded by a funny ensemble, this could be great.

In the conversations about the risks Trump poses to women, religious and ethnic minorities, LGBTQ people, and the non-wealthy, we haven’t paid nearly enough attention to the utter devastation that is about to descend on public school students. I go the other way and love Ruby. I always thought she was hysterical when I was a kid and she played another aunt on Fresh Prince, I instantly remembered her on Blackish. But she was only in a few episodes of that, it’s great she has this bigger role.

My racist sibling has a habit of only being able to sympathize with marginalized groups after knowing a member, for a little while. Our mother feels similarly to your mother, and refuses to watch the show because she feels uncomfortable there are no white people on the screen. (My reaction was literally, “ ......?”)

My mom told me over Thanksgiving that she didn’t like Blackish because “All they talk about is how bad the blacks have it, and they really don’t have it that bad. I just don’t see that with the black people I know.” My jaw hit the floor.

I’m a little behind this season but when it first premiered, I noted that I was getting at least one good, loud bellylaugh out of each episode. As far as I’m concerned, that’s enough to make a good comedy. I especially love Pops.
