Older parent here, too. I look at my friends who had their kids in their early 20's, and while yes, I’m sure they had their hard times, they will spend their 40's travelling and living it up, while I’ll still be wiping bottoms and paying for daycare. Good thing 50 is the new 40?

My daycare cost for 2 kids last year was $33K in the Chicago suburbs. It’s an average daycare center, on par with Kindercare, so nothing fancy or exclusive.
