Yeah the ‘college is primarily a money making business’ model is definitely a Boomer thing:(

Rebuttal: Boomer please.

The front page of USA today has a story from a conservative news personality (barf) who is comparing “boomer” to the N-word.  Truly magical times we live in.

no no no, kids are just lazy and entitled, what with expecting jobs to actually be available.  “I found a job, why can’t they?”

Hiring seniors is a way to keep labor costs low

I have a feeling the Venn diagram of D&D groups and running looks like this:

don’t forget entitled!

The distinction is that secularism and atheism are not organized doctrines. There is no “atheist book” commanding people to commit atrocities. There is no “secular church” insisting upon people killing in its name.

You are making false equivalencies that just don’t work. People can do horrible things in the “name of sec

Considering the history of organized religion being such an effective tool for causing that damage, I’m happy eliminating it as an option, regardless of people’s determination.

Thank you. Holy shit, people wonder why I hate religion more than anything else and it’s a simple answer. My mom, who is basically the devil in disguise and used religion as a scapegoat for all her horribleness, forced me to go to a Christian private school for pre-school and elementary school. I had to go to early

Name a single motherfucking “awful” thing that is directly attributable to atheism.

What are the “awful things” done by “atheism”? Remember, atheism is the absence of religious beliefs. So anything that was done by someone who might’ve been an “atheist”, was done simply because they were a bad person.

No, it just needs to be dismantled.  Your personal relationship with whatever you believe is personal, not suited for organization.  The majority of the problem is the organization part, existentially.

You haven’t done anything to anyone...*directly*...but when you participate in a larger system that is in place to keep people subservient, then yeah, there’s a bit of blame for you to share.

Like Sagan, I have little doubt that a number of us would be standing on distant worlds right now had mankind not frittered away an entire millennium of progress under the tender ministrations of the church.

This isn’t about personal conduct.  This is about the gaping chestwound in the history of humanity that has been caused by all, yes even yours, maybe especially yours, religions.

Anyone with religion is generally offensive to absolutely everyone else that doesn’t share their religion. So... Fair’s fair.

No matter who they are, how accomplished or well-spoken, I am literally incapable of considering ANY believer an intellectual peer.

Except all organized religion is in essence a set of lies and ongoing fraud played out over centuries to encourage people to behave and believe a certain way, a “good” way, in order to influence and control certain aspects of their lives and thought patterns.
