I havce an S3 and the wife currently drives a manual Mk7 GTI. I love going back and forth for the reason you mentioned; they are completely different cars...shared platform or not. They are way further apart than the old A3/Golf. Transmission feel you mentioned is simply the DSG feel, it's different...I've had manuals

A mountain of cocaine?

This comment needs more recommendations! LOL I call dibs on this plate in Ontario should I ever own a Delorean. Which I will! Some time in the future. Or maybe... in the past!

I have four from my summer job at a discount tire shop (which should tell you exactly the kind of clientele we had). The first I actually saw. A guy had his left rear tire blow on the highway. He had a Pontiac Grand Prix, so he figured he could keep going and he did. The tire eventually shredded and when it did,

Wasn't he recently convicted for fraud in that whole debacle?

I ruptured a spleen just watching that gif.

What if Musk bought those unscrupulous dealers and is using them to prove his point?!

Don't be silly, it's a Van Called Quest!

I would certainly hope not.

Yes, but you don't price cars based on what it costs to make them; you price cars on how much you can get for them.

Ah, I didn't see that in the ad. I thought you were referring to the 500.

I grew up in the malaise era, and we worshipped late 60s muscle cars, and foreign cars. My first vehicle (bought the summer of '82) was a '69 Buick GS 350. In 78, not long after I got my license, my dad bought a 2nd-hand BMW 2002. I couldn't have been more thrilled.

Believe me it was tough, the only things that got me through were pretty much the Bandit Trans Am's (I was 7 when they came out), and Hot Rod magazine, oh and CARtoons (think of it as a comic book dedicated to budding gearheads).

Now that I think about it you are right, well it wasn't called the Malaise Era for nothing.

Dunno about individual parts, but my entire car

Actually, due to the Concorde agreement you can strike Williams off of that list. They may be one of the smaller teams, and definitely not the richest, but they do receive a guaranteed cut of the profits. One of the benefits of having been around for quite a while......well, long enough to have been there when the

Williams are one of the five teams that get an automatic cut of the money every year, regardless of points.

I think Williams are doing well these days. Very good car, very good drivers, and money is coming in. Felipe, baby, just needs some better luck this year. They will be fighting at the top again.

Nice writeup Blake. Shame you didn't have GoPro's to get some footage of the day.

Or, y'know, a car is a supremely individual preference, and well-adjusted people don't see cars as a reflection on their personal worth?
