I felt like there was even a deeper layer there when Economos said “I just thought nobody noticed”. Felt like we was saying that despite the fact that Chris was being a dick about it, he realized that it was sort of a way of Chris saying that he noticed and cared.

Well said. Acupuncture thinks he is offering a legitimate excuse when in reality it’s a rationalization for bad behavior, and not even a good one. It’s elementary kid level stuff. Every parent has had a conversation with their child along the lines of... “Well Johnny did it! Why can’t I?” The answer (if you are even a

This is the excuse I am referring to, and it’s not a good one.

I agree with your conclusion, but you are getting pretty close to making excuses for Rogan - the idea that being popular gives you power is not at all new and should not be a surprise to him.

When you are listening to the radio, and the station you are listening to has the feature where it tells you the artist and song that is playing, but even though its a giant screen can only seem to display 10 characters at a time and slowly scrolls through.

Wonder how well a self-defense claim would hold up in that scenario.

Sir - this is the Gizmodo comment section. Someone telling you that your joke doesn’t make any sense does not equal them being “worked up”.

Good name/comment synergy here.

Sorta - but the biggest benefit is weight reduction - no landing legs equals less weight (in addition to less complexity on the rocket itself)

NASA can be so focused on weight that they forget the PR aspect of their missions, but that isn’t even the only benefit of cameras. Even on Webb, they were not totally sure that the solar shield covers fully retracted and had to confirm with instrumentation. It worked - but a camera would have been a nice additional

Like I say to my daughter - you can only be brave if you are scared. Which I’m sure I stole from some movie or show.

I understand this argument, but it sort of depends on how you define “successor”. One of the things Hubble confirmed is that galaxies moving away from us are red-shifted. JWST will help us see further away.

That was probably true with Hubble itself as well, where the repair missions cost more than building new Hubbles would have cost

Yeah even after Kendall repeatedly told him that the jokes were not helping. Roman saw that despite his protests, they were.

No I realize that they wouldn’t do Lunar starship without the contract, but that has always been a side goal compared to Mars.

This is almost certainly correct - it seemed like SpaceX never had to stop working as Starship is not only being used for moon missions and they would have kept working on it even had they lost the contract. SpaceX hasn’t confirmed that I’ve seen, but I doubt it impacted their schedule at all. Probably just some

I learned more about this flight from this picture you posted than the article itself.

To be fair - the US has done ASAT tests too.

There are always ‘recent articles’ about this topic because they generate clicks. They are all speculation.

Guess my sarcasm detector is due for a tune-up. My apologies.
