No argument, I’ll probably take a lot of heat about it but my post was honestly just in reponse to the low hanging fruit quality comments in literally every post. I regret the F bomb.

Guilty. And two BMWs and I just finished a Lego project with my kid. I came in too hot but I do get tired of these predictable quality comments in literally every post.

Yeah I went back and edited the “non-american” part in, knowing my comment was acidic and just trying to back off and piss off the least amount of people. I hate all these comments, regardless of brand.

Probably! It’s not this post, it’s the many identical ones that came before it regarding pretty much every brand.

Keep believing that old trope (that gets trotted out for every brand), I’ll be happy to reap the benefits on the used market.

Oh, fuck off. Does it really add to the discussion if we have to read this same comment at the top of every article with a non-American brand? Enough already.

Thank you.

Thanks, gem of a comment, hope it gets more attention.

Originally called the CLR-M before the bitter German lawsuit.

Sure, of course it depends on your definition of budget. We were talking performance sedans here, so it fits in my mind. The motor’s nothing to be scared of if you go into it with eyes open. Rod bearings at 60k and VANOS are the only real unique gremlins. Aftermarket rod bearings and rebuilt VANOS units are available

Yeah I think that’s totally reasonable, especially compared to this 8-series. A good independent mechanic or the medium-sized balls/ovaries to do it yourself is a key part of the equation, of course.

I love it, though you can find a well-sorted E60 M5 that has a gnarly V10 and will go 200mph stock every week on BaT. But you won’t find mine there for a long time, best new dad car for the money hands down. Not knocking this gorgeous lady, just saying that a lot of us have car love, but also budgets.

Of course they will. It's just the spin of the story, that one engine beat another.

Yeah, I love how everybody is reading this as the 6cyl won because of us. Like Porsche wouldn’t keep making a 4cyl Cayman if it made them money. The real story is Porsche brought back the 6 (or intentionally put it on a short hiatus) because money. We can all enjoy the products without making it about who won and

Nah, this is the ol’ “old Coke, New Coke, Classic Coke” marketing strategy. By the way, New Coke is back, tied into Stranger Things. It’s marketing all the way down. We can still enjoy the products, though.

Yeah, I also hope this doesn’t affect me.

The new 3-series wagon looks gorgeous, so I’ll give BMW a pass on this one. Though I do think teasers (for movies and TV, too) are getting out of control. Huge reveal! Here is the first 3 atoms of the new something!

That's not pedantic at all. That's a valid and necessary fact correction.
