That was a fun team. MVP Ryan Braun, Prince Fielder, Rickie Weeks, Zack Greinke. A few future studs in Jon Lucroy and Carlos Gomez as well.

I actually think it looks kind of cool on TV. It’s no Camden Yards, AT&T or PNC, but it’s also no Tropicana.
They could platoon some maybe? Thames is significantly better in his career vs. RHP, while Braun has mashed LHP. Braun gets time in the OF as well? Maybe they need to deal him and eat some money?
What do you do with Thames, then?
Maybe there’s nothing in the persistent rumors about their pursuit of Yu Darvish and Lorenzo Cain, but the fact that those have even been semi-believable rumors at all is proof that this Brewers club wants to start playing to win.
Meanwhile, Yelich is headed to a Brewers club that should be, at the least, decently interesting. A trade like this—a top-prospect set in exchange for a young star player with five years of team control remaining—would seem to indicate that they’re beginning to shift their focus from rebuilding into contending.
“Maybe I’ve just been in Texas too long, but high school ball would trounce that every time.”
Off-hour trips to Costco are glorious.
Yep, I mentioned this in a separate post. His wealth is from Amazon, not the WaPo, so it’s largely an irrelevant point re: whether they should be acquiesing to these demands.
The introduction of Amazon’s new retail cashier-free food store in Seattle boosted Bezos’ net worth by $2.8 billion in one day. The total amount earned by all cashiers in the USA in one day is about $210 million.
Bezos is worth $111 billion. He is the richest man in the world. But over the past eight months, his prized media outlet has repeatedly stymied requests for better pay and benefits from the employees who’ve driven its renaissance.
Maybe this is just me, but I read it with DS’s standard snarky dismissal. Like he was stupid for suggesting that. I think they’ve worded a lot of headlines in a similar way (implying what I previously mentioned), where that wasn’t the case here.
And 11 men on the field for a football team.
All I know is that he/she/it never explicitly disavowed Milkshake Duck, so... draw you own conclusions, I guess...
Yea, many of the assertions/connections in this post are EXTREMELY tenuous.
Neither is Uganda
Length and verboseness in writing are often the enemy of effectiveness.
Length and verboseness in writing are often the enemy of effectiveness. You don’t need to be better than Billy to observe that this piece lost your attention. He should be writing for your interest as the reader.
“I mean, how long has it been taken for granted in the U.S. that you need to dress nice when you go to the bank to apply for a loan?”
I didn’t finish the post (got about half way before it lost my interest). I know the goal is to push out content for the clickz and Mark Twain would have written a shorter letter if only he had more time, but writing then revising (and trying to cut down the length/words) would REALLY go a long way here.
