Yes, me too. 1971. Remember listening to “Islands in the Stream” ad nauseum on the family road trip from Austin to Erie (over 20 hours of that shit) sitting in the back of a station wagon in a fold-out bench that faced backwards.

It’s pretty much the only route they’ve ever got for shading in a bully character. Or at least, it’s the only one audiences accept. Imagine how many bullies we’ve met whose parents were perfectly loving and supportive, who beat up on us and called us horrible names for no other reason than “because they could.”

Muslim guy with a truck = “END ALL DIVERSITY AND CIVIL LIBERTIES YOU LIBRUL PUSSIES”

White guy with a gun in a hotel shooting nearly 600 people = *CRICKETS*

I live in Houston and definitely need a nap. Thank god this Series ends tonight, for good or bad. Can’t take it anymore.

HEY, fella 1971'er here!!! Let’s celebrate by mowing our lawns, sitting on rocking chairs drinking Bartles & James, and screaming at these googling hooligan youngsters TO GET THE HELL OFF OUR LAWNS!!!

I 100% believed that brown rice = fried rice until I was about 25 years old. I expressed my preference for brown rice to my then-girlfriend who told me I was crazy. I was then exposed to the truth and was very disappointed.

I do actually eat both. I prefer white rice most of the time, but I’ll admit there are certain meals that just go better with brown rice for texture reasons :)

I love reading things that back up my completely unscientific hunches. Guess I get to keep eating white rice.

The Imperial Order of Physicianal Advice has decreed that fried rice contains all of the positive benefits of both brown and white rice, along with some additional benefits from the fried food group. You may eat as much as you like, as long as it’s within moderation.

The girl in this gif is clearly saying, “burn your toast”. Or it could be, “bring your ghost.” Or could even be, “bran on your toes”. I’m not seeing “why not both?”

That said, white rice has a higher glycemic index, meaning your body breaks it down faster, creating higher levels of blood glucose and promoting higher levels of insulin response. That can be troubling for those at risk of type 2 diabetes,

Yeah, I was completely certain that Reiser’s character was going to be another affable villain, but...that moment made me realize that, no, this guy was on the level with everything he told Nancy and Jonathan in the episodes previous. Which was a nice twist and gave Reiser more to do than I think he would’ve had

When I was young, my parent tried mixing their uncooked brown and white rice together in the interest of health (we ate a lot of white rice). It was a crunchy unmitigated disaster, but they refused to throw it out in the interest of frugality, and I hated brown rice for two decades afterward.

I hope Noah Schnapp gets an Emmy nomination this time around... although it’s hard to take them seriously since, along with countless other strange decisions in the past, they gave a nomination to Shannon Purser, who played Barb.

1 - Lucas’s new nickname is “Stalker”. Stalker was also the black member of the original GI Joe lineup. Lucas is also into military tactics and wears camo, as does the GI Joe character. I am certain this is not a coincidence.
2 - Nancy looks kind of like Annie Clark of St. Vincent.

I really loved Finn Wolfhard’s hilarious and subtle little look of pride that possessed Will remembered who he was exactly. No luck for Dr Owens or Hopper, but Mike was remembered and even in times of horror, Mike had a second to be pleased about that.

‘67 here, here’s a toast and a coupla advil.
