Ahhrg yes! They ruin the ceremony.

Dean has long hoped to take a swing at Jess, and appoints himself defender of her honor after he thinks Jess pressured her.

I'm surprised this comment section isn't more wild, because I'm pretty sure I've seen commenters on this site call Jess an attempted rapist because of the scene at the party. Yes, I realize I am right now trolling for angry women to come out of the woodworks.

Rory struggles in the wake of the death of journalism. Gets a job at Buzzfeed.
Lorelai and Luke are in couples therapy following all of the f'ed up stuff that they did to each other in season 6 and 7.

I agree that "it doesn't matter whether Friday night dinners stay or go" is an inexplicably weird thing to say. But I do agree with Sims that paying back the loan with the money Richard had just given her as a gift isn't, well, terribly elegant (for lack of a better word) as opposed to if she had managed to earn that

A rare win for Sims!

Also, is it… a little weird that basically Lorelai decides? Not that I don't think Rory would speak up if she still wanted to go to Harvard despite what the pro/con list dictates, it just struck me as a little odd that Lorelai really runs with it (having the t-shirt made and everything) without outright asking what

I think the "x new comments above/below"-thing is pretty great. Saves me from having to re-skim the page over and over.

I could have almost gone along with it if she had qualified it even a little: "You know, that poster almost looks a little like a minotaur – what if that were intentional…?"

It's much easier to avoid confusion if everyone just goes along with the Japanese numbers.

Wait, this means we already passed the episode where the college admissions ladies visit Chilton and are all "if I have to read one more essay about Hillary Rodham Clinton…" But I don't remember anyone discussing it! I had this whole thing prepared about how I completely empathize with Rory while at the same time

I think that skin-eating demon from season 7's "Same time, same place" was also chilling. (Cue: there was no seventh season, and so on and so forth…)

I started watching the show during season 5, and when I later went back to the generally more beloved early seasons, they just didn't quite pack the same punch. I guess part of it was that I was spoiled on a lot of the plot, but also the characters felt like such little kids (and the show looks so incredibly old, like

Hey everyone – let's completely disregard the content of this article and instead discuss the merits of season 6!

But Edna's with Ned Flanders now (Nedna). It would be too cruel to kill her off as well.

For the longest time I thought there was a golden age episode I'd somehow missed, because of the mention of Dr. Marvin Monroes death in the Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase. But there isn't …right?

NOT LENNY

Oh yeah, I forgot all about the extras (they were mentioned in the beginning, I guess there was some kind of extra download). The web comments and newspaper articles and such were just read out loud in kind of a monotone voice, I thought it worked well. Didn't feel like I missed out on anything.

Finished listening to the audiobook version of Night Film. I shall remember it fondly, for it kept me thoroughly entertained during many hours of dog walking (I've realized that kind of trashy books like Gone Girl or YA like the Fault in Our Stars work a lot better for my audio needs than 'proper' literature. The last
