The ad is misleading simply because it refers to the bailout as a gift and not a loan. Even if that loan was generous and interest free, if the company pays it back than the cost was not $10B but rather the interest on that loan, a fraction of the amount. Running the interest lost vs tax gain on having GM Canada

Or we could look to facts instead of trying to shoehorn everything into a victim card about the wealth vs the rest. Honda sales went up for Jan 2019 over Jan 2018. Kia sales went up. Hyundai is up. Ford is up. Acura is up. Yet BMW/Audi/MB are all down. But sure, let’s blame tax cuts for the wealthy instead of Toyota

It’s newsworthy when a major OEM dumps a population of a small city out in the street?

What are you defining as Mid Size and Full Size?

Sure there is.  If he hadn’t defeated the safety features the car is supposed to fucking stop.

Hey my guy, i’m sorry to say but you’re not the type of customer Ford is catering to anymore. There might be other folks like you that want a small car but Ford have probably already done the math and decided they can’t survive selling a couple thousand cars a year to like minded people like yourself. Not saying its

The brand new hybrid Explorer and Aviator are obvious responses to the idea Ford isn’t planning for higher gas prices. But Jalopnik will keep banging this drum.

1'st Gear:

Don’t forget it takes at least 5 years to design and build a car. So any system would likely be out of date by the second official model year...

Plus changing safety standards.  Technically, child safety seats are like SNELL helmets and aren’t rated to last for as long as a car does.  The factory child restraints would likely be obsolete before the car was.

And I’m pretty sure the laws change on the seats almost constantly. Even if it existed it would be obsolete by the time you were trying to sell the car.

A really expensive option for something that will be used for a few years. Also infants require different seats than toddlers and so on so its just not feasible.

Volvo actually did the built-in child seat thing in the mid-2000s. The result was a kinda shitty child booster seat, and one of the most uncomfortable back seats I’ve ever sat in. There’s a reason this isn’t done anymore.

Yeah, I was interested in buying until I saw how stupid the airbox looked.

Pedestrian safety rules probably ruined it. You can’t build a car with a roofline like the RX-7 any more.

My favorite part is how you assume that if somebody does like how the car looks, they don’t already know what an RX7 looks like. wtf.

You're mad because it doesn't look like an rx7?

Thanks for this.

But front aerodynamic stability. No one seems to complain when Ferrari does this.

Can confirm. Bought a 2018 Kia Forte (sedan) for just over $9KUSD brand new off the lot a couple months ago.
