How is this not the EXACT SAME argument that you could have made about the Z3, or Z4 any time in the past? Or the Supra for that matter? Go back into the 1990's when the Supra was as much as a Corvette, with less power.

But that’s been the story throughout the ages. The Corvette has always been a performance bargain. In 1992 the Corvette was $33,000 while the Supra Turbo was $29,000. In 1998 the Corvette was $44,000 while the Supra was $41,000.

Argh, I get so frustrated by people that try to hide behind free speech for everything. Free speech doesn’t mean that you can say absolutely anything, anywhere that you want to with no repercussions. When you agree to be the leader of a publicly traded company, you cannot make statements that bait people into making

Great answer! This comes from someone that obviously helps people buy cars for a living, I really appreciate your consulting company. The rationale is along the same lines of the various friends that come to me for car advice and tell me some variation of, “I’m driving ‘only’ a Honda Accord right now, but we are

So who’s going to cover the cost of arbitrarily using 2 plants to build a product when you only need one? When the Silverado costs $3,000 more to build because keeping plants open superfluously is worthwhile, that will inevitably drive customers to other products. And when their sales go down, and then another

The point of closing these plants is to avoid requiring another bailout. The bailout worked, there is a corporation that is still in business that is still employing Americans and is operating healthily.

The criminals are trying to find a loophole that allows them to commit crimes with reckless abandon. The police are taking measured steps to mitigate this type of crime. It’s not about “killing people who commit misdemeanors”. It is about stopping the perpetrator. The criminal has the opportunity to stop when told to

Nothing wrong with IFS. Tons of people have proven with the 4Runners, Xterras, Land Cruisers, etc. that IFS can do decent offroad. Is it as good as a dedicated crawler? No, but it also has a reasonable turning radius and ride quality. And no death wobble.

The ZR2 gets lower fuel mileage for a few reasons, compared to the regular Colorado with a diesel (20 city/30 highway). The ZR2 has 4.10 gears. It comes with bigger, offroad tires that aren’t exactly wonderful for fuel economy. It’s lifted, which screws up the aerodynamics for airflow since being higher increases drag.

If that’s what you ascertained from my reply, then we are miles and miles apart. I was showing examples of how consumers will make irrational, emotional decisions of their own volition.

Wow, salty much?

Yeah, because if we go look at the top sales, it’s not as if 4 door pickups basically sell themselves and fly off of dealer lots, while single cabs can’t get sold, even with a kilo of cocaine worth of money on the hood. /s

You’re one of the only people on Earth. Go look at sales of any other pickup, from the Tacoma to the ZR2 all the way up to the Raptor. Everyone and their mother and their mother’s mother all want the crew cab.

Yeah, the movie BlacKKKlansman showed that it has been pretty ongoing in Colorado, which is surprising to many because it’s not the Kentucky/Alabama style states that most people envision. Denver is a hotspot for liberal growth right now. And Oregon is so racist it’s unbelievable. Both of these states are where young

Sweetie, if you think that these cars are reliable, then yeah, I think you aren’t aware of the issues, or it’s a case of confirmation bias.

Alanis, I’ve heard rumors from friends that are salespeople at the dealerships. More than 1 has stated that they’re going back to the cheaper  torsion beam suspension. Have you seen anything one way or another about it? The Jetta went from a multilink rear on the non-performance models to a torsion beam, for example.

No, they aren’t. Go join some Fiat forums, subreddits, etc. There have been tons of cases of reliability issues. Luckily though, you can buy them so cheap, that if OP’s budget is $35k, buy one at a discount, I’ve seen over $5k off of one, taking them right around the $20k mark, drive it for 6 years, and just replace

Yup! And if you look at my post history, I have defended Ford for their actions. They are catering to the market. If you’re mad that no one is buying sedans, then go buy a brand new sedan. Convince your family, coworkers, significant other, etc. to buy a sedan instead of a crossover. Vote with your wallet. The car

He’s going to roll back for all EV’s. He can’t single out a company for a single company. This is going to be bad for consumers, if he does that, because it will just make the cars that we want more expensive.

Chevrolet already said that it’s killing the Volt. So yeah, they do have other cars that qualify for the credits, but saying that you’re going to go after their tax credits for consumers is like uninviting someone from your party after they tell you that they can’t make it.
