It was well received because it was a good movie period. Everytime something people dislike gets successful, they come up with all kinds of theories for why it did instead of the obvious reason that the majority of people liked it.

Between a game not giving proper content warnings and people harassing a voice actor for doing his job, people are going to prioritize the latter as the one most deserving of being called out.

At the very least, I don’t think the people making those complaints were harassing the voice actors or development team.

They are harassing the voice actor because the character playing him is a dick. The two aren’t exactly separate.
