I remember when Henry Cavill did Sesame Street after Man of Steel and seeing all kinds of social media comments raging about it. Putting aside the quality of the movie, you’d think Cavill had killed someone in real life based on what these people said.

I assumed Curry’s character’s Asian fetish was just to portray him as a sleazebag the audience would hate. I won’t defend the scene with Liu’s character.

The only time I see men complaining about unrealistic body standards harming guys’ self-esteem is when they want to use it as a “gotcha” against those complaining about sexualized women.
